Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 1685

While Tang Yuanyuan was feeling dejected, Little Sprout came up to her and whispered, “Previously, you would get embarrassed whenever I called you ‘sister-in-law’. But now that the wedding date is about to be set, are you finally going to let me call you that?”

As much as Tang Yuanyuan was embarrassed by this salutation, she had grown to accept it, since she had been dating Yuchi Yishu for quite some time now.

During the reunion dinner, the rest of the families would intentionally try to give them some space for them to spend time together. In the end, Yuchi Yishu took her out.

“Where would you like to go?”

Tang Yuanyuan pursed her lips. “Anywhere.”

“Again?” Yuchi Yishu patted her head and chuckled. “Can’t you make a more challenging suggestion?”

A more challenging suggestion?

What does that even mean?

Not speaking, Tang Yuanyuan tilted her head and looked him in the eye.

“Fine. Would you like to watch some fireworks?”

“Sure.”

During Lunar New Year, there was always a place designated for people to watch the fireworks. When the two got there, they found out that the show had not started.

However, it was already packed at the square—some were families who came after their reunion diner, some were couples, and some were groups of friends; most people there were couples like Yuchi Yishu and Tang Yuanyuan.

Even before the fountain show and fireworks started, Tang Yuanyuan could tell how grand the show would be just by looking at the preparations.

After finding that all the seats at the square had been occupied, they had no choice but to stand.

At this point, she noticed that some needy girls would lean on their boyfriends’ arms, and their boyfriends would wrap their coats around their girlfriends; they would either be whispering to each other or chuckling together. Their lips would be on each other’s cheeks or neck from time to time when they were talking, looking extremely intimate. Tang Yuanyuan looked at them with admiration as there never seemed to be such an intimate moment between her and Yuchi Yishu.

While she was pondering this, Yuchi Yishu suddenly locked her arms with his. She quickly turned around to see Yuchi Yishu’s suddenly approaching face.

“What are you looking at?”

His voice was deep, and he looked gorgeous; he covered her with his masculine scent as he drew closer to her. This sent her heart racing.

Why did he suddenly get close to her?

“N-Nothing.”

“Then why didn’t you respond when I called you earlier?”

Tang Yuanyuan blinked. “I was just wondering when the firework show would start.”

“We have half an hour more. The fountain show and fireworks will start together.”

“I see.”

Yuchi Yishu looked toward where Tang Yuanyuan was staring at earlier and let out a smile. “Are you jealous of them?”

Tang Yuanyuan blushed and subconsciously shook her head.

“I-I’m not.”

“It’s written all over your face. Don’t deny it.”

As he finished, he backed out slightly and unzipped his fleece jacket, asking, “Are you cold?”

Isn’t he just being a copycat? Tang Yuanyuan did not expect to get caught by Yuchi Yishu for randomly peeking at others.

Now, she was feeling embarrassed and did not move over. “I-I’m not cold. Keep your jacket to yourself.”

They had probably never done this before so Tang Yuanyuan was feeling nervous.

“I’m feeling cold, though.”

Yuchi Yishu took two steps ahead and wrapped his jacket around her petite body.

This action made Tang Yuanyuan gasp as she was wrapped around in his warm fleece jacket, and every breath she took was his scent. Feeling startled, she stood there and did not know how to react.

“Now that’s more like it. Much warmer.” Yuchi Yishu lowered his head, let out a smile, and gently knocked Tang Yuanyuan’s forehead with his jaw. “Am I right?”

Tang Yuanyuan was blushing hard while she kept her head down and did not respond.

“Are you embarrassed?” His voice became deeper. “I thought you liked it since you were staring at those couples.”

She subconsciously defended herself, “I don’t. I just happened to be staring at them.”

“So, you don’t like it and don’t want me to do it?”

Tang Yuanyuan was rendered speechless.

It was not that she did not like it, but she felt that Yuchi Yishu was intentionally teasing her. This was perhaps their first time doing something slightly intimate, but he just had to ruin it by saying these things.

As she thought about that, she pushed him away.

“You’re right—I don’t. Move away!”

Just as she pushed him away half an inch, he edged back toward her and wrapped his hands around her.

“Stop messing around.”

Tang Yuanyuan bit her lower lip while she looked at him with her watery eyes. “You did it on purpose—you intentionally said those things to agitate me. We’re seeing each other, but why can’t we be like other couples? Do you actually like me?”

Yuchi Yishu was confused as he was just trying to tease her and he did not expect her to get upset. Seeing how her eyes were now all teared up, Yuchi Yishu began to feel nervous.

“Silly girl, what nonsense are you talking about?” He held her face. “If I don’t like you, why would I even choose to be with you and want to be with you for the rest of my life?”

Tears began rolling down her cheeks uncontrollably. She puckered her lips and let her tears fall freely; Yuchi Yishu could not seem to wipe them off.

“But… we’ve been together for so long, and you’ve never kissed me.” Tang Yuanyuan broke down and attracted attention.

Her words made him feel terrible yet amused at the same time. Is she being serious?

“Just because I’ve never kissed you, you think I don’t like you?”

Tang Yuanyuan had somewhat lost it when she responded without any regard to what others might think about her, “Yuehan and Xiaolu told me that if you do like me, you would’ve kissed me; unless you really don’t.”

Yuchi Yishu never wanted to have this conversation in public, but facing this crying girl, he decided to carry her up while she continued to wipe her tears off. Good thing that she did not have any makeup on today.

As she was in his arms, she felt that he must have felt embarrassed by her crying and whining during the festive season, as that had attracted too much attention.

However, Tang Yuanyuan could not be bothered as she had been bottling everything up for way too long. She would not feel relieved until she had gotten these things off her chest.

After they left the square, she realized they were now somewhere deserted—no one was around them but a few huge trees.

Before she realized it, they were behind a tree and her back was against a tree trunk. At the same time, Yuchi Yishu’s voice sounded out.

“Those two roommates of yours are really good at talking nonsense.”
