Ellinor pouted, lightly kicking his leg. “So, your grandpa can still use his life to threaten you, to make you kick me, the troublemaker, out. You’re still going to listen to him?”
Theo grabbed her restless little foot, then bent down to climb onto the bed, pinning her under him, “You, you little troublemaker, are my life now. Unless grandpa doesn’t want me as his grandson anymore, nobody can kick you out.”
He said she was his life.
Because of those words, Ellinor was stunned for a moment, then she laughed with a pretend look of disgust, “I can’t trust a word men say!”
Theo pinched her little nose and said, “I can’t trust women either. Why did you just say you would leave the Blanchet family on your own?”
Ellinor raised an eyebrow asked, “Don’t you believe I can handle all the fallout from this?”
Theo looked down at her, deeply into her eyes, like he was teaching a kid, “I believe you, but what if things don’t go as we planned? Are you really going to leave me? How could you say something like that so easily?”
Ellinor blinked and thought for a moment. “Well, if it really comes to that, I’ll just take you with me! Would you go with me?”
Theo was slightly taken aback, then a rare warmth spread across his stern face. He laughed and said, “If I go with you, are you willing to support me?”
Ellinor nodded without hesitation, “Sure, I’ll support you!”
The man raised an eyebrow with interest and said, “Oh? How are you going to support me then?”
Ellinor rolled her eyes in a sassy manner and said, “At least I won’t let you go hungry!”
Theo was amused by her. He affectionately touched her little nose, “Silly girl, I can go with you, but you don’t have to support me. Even if I leave the Blanchet family, I can still find other work to support you and our kids. As long as I’m with you, I’m willing to do anything!”
