Chapter 755
Ellinor bobbed her head again, “I want to hit the sack.”
Theo didn’t say anything else and just lightly wrapped his arm around her shoulders, “Alright, let’s go then.”
Ellinor knitted her brows, “We? You’re not going either?”
Theo looked down at her, “Without you, who’s gonna foot the bill? Why would I go?”
After hearing this, Ellinor shot him a glare, “I can give you the money, and you can pay!”
Theo said gravely. “No need. If you’re not going, I don’t fancy hanging around with those guys. I’m afraid you might make a run for it.”
Ellinor couldn’t stand his manipulation, and she suddenly felt he was kind of sneaky.
“Fine! I’ll go with you! Happy now?”
Theo gave her a slight smile, and he whispered in her ear, “I know you’re tired. We’ll just go for a bit, have a few drinks, and head back. Hopefully you can have a proper rest tonight; no more burning the midnight oil.”
Ellinor’s face instantly turned beet–red.
Belinda leaned in curiously. “Theo, what did you say to Ellinor? She’s blushing so much that her face looks like a tomato.”
Theo pushed her away with a poker face, “Kids shouldn’t eavesdrop on grown–ups, don’t be so nosy.”
Ellinor was at a loss for words.
Belinda rubbed her face where Theo had pushed her and pouted, “I’m not a kid! What’s wrong with asking?”
At Pearl Moon.
When Ellinor and Theo arrived, Jonah, Balfour, Kemp, and Bartlett were already there, chatting away.
As they entered, everyone turned their heads in unison.
Jonah raised his glass. “The stars of the show have arrived!”
Balfour looked at Ellinor, his gaze filled with warmth and love.
Then he glanced at Theo by her side, and his eyes instantly turned cold.
His little sister was the best girl in the world and deserved a man of her age who was gentle and caring to love her.
Instead, she ended up with this old man. What a steal for Theo!
Kemp was always a man of few words. He clinked glasses with Bartlett sitting next to him.
Bartlett watched the pair approach with a bitter smile tugging at the comer of his lips. He took a silent sip of his liquor, which tasted just as bitter.
Theo and Ellinor walked up, “Let me introduce my wife, Ellinor.”
And then he pulled her into a seat next to him.
Jonah was the first to raise his glass in salutation, “Theo, congrats. You finally found your other half!”
Kemp also raised his glass. “Theo, congratulations.”
Balfour watched them coldly, not joining in.
Suddenly, a glass of wine appeared in front of Ellinor, “Ellinor, I hope you have a happy marriage.”
Ellinor blinked, then she looked up to find Bartlett
She took the juice Theo passed to her and lightly clinked it with Bartlett’s glass, “Thanks.”
Bartlett didn’t say anything and just finished his liquor with a smile.
The atmosphere became slightly tense
Just then, Theos phone suddenly rang.
