The Kiss That Sparked it All Chapter 2856

Chapter 2856

Regina tried to console herself, but the tears betrayed her. They trickled stubbornly down her cheeks.

The thought of Nolan looking at her with that indifferent gaze, as if she were something filthy, was agonizing.

She had never harbored any grand illusions about a future with Nolan. All she wanted was to stand by, like a good friend, and watch over him from afar.

But she never could have guessed that what her father did would obliterate even that possibility.

Now she couldn’t even be his friend, and the thought of that left a bitter taste in Regina’s

heart.

She could understand, at least in part, her father’s intentions. The Tanner Group was in dire straits; otherwise, he wouldn’t have recklessly taken that tape to threaten the Harris family.

But it was such an unwise move. If Nolan really got angry, it could spell the end for the entire Tanner family.

Regina, still naive, didn’t realize that Francis was acting for his son’s sake and mistakenly thought that her father’s actions were partly out of love for her, considering her future.

She had just been discharged from the hospital and was meant to be home to recover.

After the day’s turmoil, she collapsed onto her bed without even covering herself with a blanket and fell asleep.

She woke up the next morning, shivering from the cold.

Descending the stairs to breakfast with a ghostly pallor, she was met with her father furrowed brow. “What’s this all about, Regina? Is marrying Nolan really that distressi Are you trying to manipulate me with your health?”

Regina quickly furrowed her brow in response, “What are you talking about?”

She couldn’t understand why her father wouldn’t give her a break so early in the morni

Imogen intervened with a smile, “Regina’s just come out of the hospital. It’s normal for to look a bit off. And you, Francis, why are you so hot-tempered this morning? Look at you, all stern, and you’ve probably scared Regina. Come sit by me, Regina, have some. breakfast. Emma got up early to make pancakes, your favorite, with that maple syrup yo

love.”

Regina actually did just that, plopping down next to her with no regard for Madeline’s disgusted look from across the table. She served herself a pancake, and then, looking up

at Imogen and flashing a smile. “Thanks!”

Imogen felt goosebumps rise; had Regina really lost her mind? How else could one explain such a drastic change in her demeanor?

As the family sat together, seemingly in harmony, Francis finally managed a smile.

This was the life he wanted.

“Alright, no more family squabbles; what happened yesterday would stay in the past. Let’s just enjoy being together.” he said.

Imogen quickly agreed, “Exactly, we’re all family. It’s normal to have conflicts from time to time, as long as any misunderstandings are cleared up.”

“That’s right, a little friction between family members is inevitable. Once everything’s out in the

open, it’s all good. Now, let’s eat before the food gets cold. Afterward, we can take a stroll in the garden, soak up some sun, and relax.”
