Chapter 2822
Nolan’s hunch was spot on. Even before he arrived, his cell buzzed with an urgent call from his buddy.
Regina had indeed checked into the Golden Hotel, just a stone’s throw from his office.
“Can you find out which floor she’s on?”
“Room 414! You better hurry,” came the grave voice from the other line. “I caught a glimpse of her wandering the hallway, looking all out of sorts, like she’s been drugged or something…”
He cut himself off, sensing the weight of the situation on Nolan’s end.
“Thanks, I owe you one. I’ll make it up to you after all this is over.”
“Hey, what are friends for? The most important thing is she’s okay. Don’t worry, I’ve already alerted the hotel staff. Let’s just hope… we’re not too late. Who the hell has the guts to pull this kind of sleazy stunt in my hotel…”
Nolan barely heard the rest. He ended the call, floored the gas pedal, and made a beeline for the hotel. Thankfully, it wasn’t too far off.
Meanwhile, the hotel staff were in full swing, having been alerted to a severe incident in room 414. Following a dire command from their CEO, they had to respond swiftly.
“What the heck is going on?” a staff member panted while sprinting down the corridor. “I’ve been here years and never seen a code red like this.”
“Beats me,” another gasped, “but the boss looked furious. No point guessing now, we need to get there ASAP.”
The thug, clutching the hotel key card, navigated the corridors with a swagger.
The staff around him were frantic, and it dawned on him that something was off. He had pocketed a hefty sum from that woman; he had to finish the job.
After all, a stunning beauty was waiting in that room-a sweet deal for him.
But as he approached 414, he was quickly spotted.
“No orders yet, the employees murmured among themselves, guarding the door. The thug approaching was a red flag.
“Who are you? What’s your business here?” one of them challenged.
The thug straightened up, clearing his throat, “What business? The gal sleeping in there is my girlfriend. Here’s my key card. Can’t a guy visit his own room?”
Exchanging glances, the staff recognized the card from their hotel. He was a guest, after áll.
Their demeanor softened, “Oh, you’re staying with us. Sorry for the intrusion. There’s been an incident, and we’re just ensuring everyone’s safety. Hope you’re not upset.”
The thug flashed a grin, playing the understanding gentleman, “Of course, the hotel’s just looking out for us guests, right? Well, if it’s all good, I’ll head in now.”
Meanwhile, Nolan had stormed into the hotel lobby, battling to keep his emotions in check until he reached the fourth floor. He marched straight to room 414.
“Mr. Harris.”
The staff at the door bowed their heads in recognition. Mr. Harris was a close friend of their CEO, a fact well-known among the crew.
But they couldn’t fathom why he was here now at the center of the chaos.
