Chapter 2715
“We need to get the public involved in our art. It’s not just about creating something for our own private admiration,” Dahlia spoke with a wisdom that belied her youthful appearance, leaving Regina genuinely taken aback.
“I hadn’t expected… I thought you were just in this for…” Regina confessed.
Dahlia offered a wry smile, “You thought I was just after the spotlight, didn’t you? Well, that’s part of it, I won’t lie. But if my star rises, more people will get to know about modern dance, right? My fame and my dance are intertwined.”
This candidness was a far cry from the first impression Dahlia had left on Regina. She found herself thoroughly charmed by Dahlia’s allure, and their interview flowed effortlessly.
“One last question, about your love life. Feel free to decline if it’s too personal.”
“It’s no trouble. As a dancer, I’m a public figure too. If my audience is curious, I’m happy to share. But as it stands, I’m single.”
“Oh?” Regina chuckled. “And what kind of man would catch your eye?”
Looking down with a coy smile, Dahlia replied, “I’m drawn to successful men, someone who’s responsible.”
“Following this interview, I bet you’ll have even more admirers,” Regina thought, her face composed while her mind buzzed with excitement.
Successful and responsible – she was practically describing Nolan, wasn’t she? Was t Dahlia’s public declaration of affection for him?
How would Nolan react to this?
Regina mused, her curiosity piqued. The nature of Dahlia and Nolan’s relationship wasn’t something she was fully privy to. It seemed odd to her. If they had known each other for some time, why the hesitation? Why not just be together?
“That wraps up our interview for today. It’s been a pleasure meeting you, Dahlia, and I’m honored to be the first journalist to interview you.”
Dahlia extended her hand for a firm shake. “The pleasure is mine. This was a win-win, not just for you but for me as well. You’ve worked hard.”
“So, that’s a wrap. I’ll send the draft to your agent’s email as soon as it’s ready. Once you’ve given the green light, I’ll forward it to my bass to schedule the publish date.”
“Sounds great. Goodbye, Ms. Tanner.”
Dahlia’s face had held a gentle smile throughout the encounter, a stark contrast to her usual untouchable stage persona. But as soon as she stepped into her car, the facade fell away.
“I’m beat. No more interviews like this one, please.”
She pulled out her compact mirror to touch up her makeup; she had plans to see Nolan later on.
