The Kiss That Sparked it All Chapter 2660

Chapter 2660

“What was it about the land that could make them pine for it even amid the hustle and bustle of a booming city? What was it about the ocean that cradled all the souls of the seaside town that left such a lasting impression? You really have to see it for yourself to get the true answer.”

Ivy mused, nodding thoughtfully. They had filmed on site, so they had spent quite a long time in that village. No one knew that place better than the cast.

But compared to the locals, they still had much to learn. These college kids, seeking to learn more, would undoubtedly benefit from a visit.

“I highly encourage you to make the trip.” Colton said, “Only after you’ve seen the landscapes there will you understand why Valor was so haunted by the memories of home.

It was not just homesickness but a longing for a mother’s embrace. I won’t say more | don’t want to sound like I’m tricking you into going.”

“Ha, sir, you don’t have to convince us – we’re already sold on the idea!”

The first roadshow wrapped up beautifully, and the crew attended a celebratory banquet afterward.

It was Ivy’s first time at such an event, and she was buzzing with excitement, grateful to be surrounded by familiar faces from the cast and crew.

Evadne was right beside her, on strict orders from Balfour to ensure Ivy didn’t overindulge in the spirits and alcohol.

“You have my word. I won’t let Ivy overdo it.”

Evadne initially planned to keep Ivy away from alcohol altogether. But Balfour, after a moment’s silence, advised, “She’s bound to be thrilled today. Not letting her have a drop would be too harsh. As long as she doesn’t overdo it it’ll only lead to a headache the next morning.”

At the end of the day, Balfour was just concerned about Ivy’s health.

“Got it. You can count on me.”

“I need a drink with you, sir! If it wasn’t for you stepping in, I might still be toiling away in some nondescript office. Life would’ve been just that, but I’m truly grateful for this opportunity. I’ve discovered my passion for performance, and I hope to work with you. again in the future!” Ivy hadn’t even taken a sip yet but looked positively giddy.

Colton lifted his glass, “Are you sure you haven’t had a drink already? Why are your eyes so red?

We’re quite the team, you know. You may think I have discovered you, but I’m equally thankful that you have joined my film. No one else could’ve played Valor like you did. You’re the surprise hit of our crew; let’s keep working together!”

Everyone else watched, smiles spreading across their faces. Ivy was genuinely elated, feeling like she had surmounted a great hurdle She realized the public didn’t dislike her as she had feared, which was incredibly satisfying.

After one drink, Ivy poured herself another full glass, intending to toast the director again.

Colton immediately shook his head, “I can’t indulge you to drink more. You’re already tipsy, and what if you can’t stand after a couple more? Do you have someone to pick you up?”

He was almost joking Ivy in front of everyone, and Ivy waved it off. “Evadne’s got my back.”

Colton raised an eyebrow. “Isn’t the man at home worried about you?”

Everyone was aware of the situation between Balfour and Ivy, and none of the two were trying to hide their relationship, but such an open teasing of Ivy had never happened.

After all, though Ivy was affable and approachable, the man standing behind her was a figure of authority the youngest CEO of the Howard Group.

“He’s got nothing to worry about. My word is his law.” Ivy boasted, her laughter filling the room. “Come on, let’s have another. I’m over the moon tonight. Here’s to a box office hit, as a tribute to everyone’s hard work all the time.”
