The Kiss That Sparked it All Chapter 2553

Chapter 2553

The incident caught everyone off guard, and Balfour had pulled a few folks straight from the office to deal with it.

Quinton was holding a tablet, pointing at the screen, and walking Balfour through her last known movements.

The sight of Ivy’s carefree silhouette, oblivious to her fate, twisted his heart in agony.

“She couldn’t have just vanished into thin air. Expand the timeline to two minutes before and after; I want to see exactly how someone managed to take her!”

Ivy’s figure indeed never reappeared on the security footage, which confirmed she didn’t leave on her own.

“Stop-zoom in on that section.”

Quinton complied, and on the screen was an orderly pushing a gurney, clearly with a patient who must have just been discharged.

“Don’t you think there’s something off here?”

It suddenly hit Balfour; he’d seen a similar figure when he entered the hospital. But what was odd about it?

“It’s her!”

Since when have patients been completely covered from head to toe?

Balfour had spotted the anomaly, understanding why he had felt so strange when he encountered the orderly before.

Even if a body was being transported, no one would be so brazen as to push a gurney out in the open like that.

And if it were a patient, how could they be covered so thoroughly?

It was likely that Ivy was lying on that gurney!

Which meant he had walked right past her!

If only he had looked a second longer, he might have noticed something was amiss. Balfour was consumed with regret.

“Find me all the footage with this orderly in it, now! I need to know where she started.”

Balfour’s voice was as cold as ice, but the urgency was palpable. He was never this frantic.

“Mr. Howard, this orderly dragged someone out of the restroom!”

It seemed Mara was right; Ivy had indeed not returned after using the restroom.

Because she was taken right from the restroom door.

“Mara, oh Mara, are you entangled in this mess?” Balfour thought.

“Check it thoroughly,” he said.

Meanwhile, Clara hadn’t expected it would be this easy to whisk Ivy away to the location she had set up.

Glancing at the rear seat where Ivy lay unconscious, no matter how much the car jostled, Clara revealed a savage grin. “No matter how capable you are, you’ve fallen into my hands, haven’t you? Hehehe. You always boast about your deep connection with Balfour, and he acts all love-struck by you. I’m dying to see if he’ll still adore you after other men have defiled you.”

Imagining the disdainful looks Ivy would receive as if she were trash brought a laugh to Clara’s lips, and her driving became erratic with excitement.

Still, she managed to pull into a derelict building where a sleazy thug had been waiting for a while.

“Are you useless? Can’t you see and help out?”

Clara spat insults with contempt. The guy was just some random thug she had found online.

Promising him a moment with his favorite actress had him scampering over without a second thought.

“Y-yes! Oh man, it’s really Ivy. Holy cow, how did you manage this?”
