Theo coughed, “If it’s something you could easily figure out, do I still have to spell it out?”

Theo hesitated “What if she’s already mad at me?”

Trying the doorknob, he found it locked.
It was glaringly obvious who Ellinor was trying to keep out.
Annoyed, Theo ordered, “Go get the key”

When Theo entered the room, Ellinor was indeed asleep.
She was sleeping with a slight frown, possibly dreaming of something unpleasant.
Theo sat on the edge of the bed, gently rubbing her forehead with his fingers

Just like that, a week flew by
On Saturday afternoon, Belinda called her.
“Ellinor, where are you?”
“I’m at home”
“Today’s Theo’s birthday What gift did you get for him?”
Ellinor, who was watching TV, paused, “I forgot. I didn’t prepare anything.”
