The Kiss That Sparked it All Chapter 2489

Chapter 2489

But you know, ever since Ivy started dating Balfour, it was like every day was Valentine’s Day. He couldn’t stop singing her praises, always gushing about how amazing she was. And it wasn’t just him – her fans were the same way, showering her with compliments that made her confidence soar. She really began to feel she was worthy of all this love.

Ivy had only starred in one movie since her debut, but the set was never the quiet sanctuary she had imagined; there were too many scandals and too much bad press.

Despite it all, she had a solid core of supporters who had been with her from the start, cheering her on from the sidelines. Ivy was at a loss for words when it came to expressing her gratitude for their genuine and enduring love.

Without them, she might have given up on the rough-and-tumble world of showbiz.

Their love fueled her drive partly; they wanted to see her on the silver screen, and that was why she was determined to keep making movies. She also remembered a promise to her fans to always stay in touch.

“Will it be a bad idea if you reserve a seat for me at your fan meet-up? What if your fans don’t like me?” Balfour asked.

Ivy had considered this herself. However, it was her first fan event after all; she naturally wanted Balfour by her side to share the moment.

“Forget it, then. Just hang out backstage with me. It’s the same thing,” she sighed. “Most of the folks coming are my die-hard fans. They get me no matter what I do. But there are always a few who might not be thrilled to see you. Let’s not stir the pot.”

Ivy didn’t want Balfour to feel out of place, but she also didn’t want her fans to be uncomfortable. She wanted everyone to have a good time at her first meet-and-greet.

As for breaking the news about Balfour to her fans, she figured there would be time for that later. She was going to be with Balfour forever, so it was a matter of ‘when’, not ‘if’, they found out.

That’s why she didn’t bother to hide from the paparazzi snapping photos of her and Balfour. Why keep a secret that was bound to come out anyway? It was better to seize the chance and let the cat out of the bag.

Some people saw pictures of Balfour and Ivy and started shipping them, while others were turned off. A few were downright envious, wishing they could tear Ivy apart!

“Mara, your man Balfour is really with another girl. What’s the deal? I thought with your charm, no man could resist you. What happened between you two?” Olivia had the knack for hitting where it hurt.

Mara Lewis was already seething from the news online, her and Clara’s schemes to smear

Ivy’s reputation had backfired. Balfour was in the picture with her, and that was something she unexpected.

The two of them were plastered all over the front pages, the exact opposite of what Mara had wanted to see. But then again, Ivy was drop-dead gorgeous – her features were like something out of a Hollywood classic.

“Ah, Mara, looks like you’ve finally met your match. But don’t worry, now that I’m back, I’ll make sure your childhood crush comes crawling back to you,” Olivia boasted.

Mara raised an eyebrow as she noticed Olivia’s unfounded confidence, “Are you sure? Will you really help me, or will you just make things worse?”

“Hey, are you doubting me? Pfft, if you don’t believe me, just wait. I’ll show you why I’m so confident,” Olivia scoffed.

Olivia was a master in dating, so man was nothing to her. There wasn’t a man she couldn’t charm if she wanted to. To her, guys were like toys that she could discard whenever she had enough. She didn’t quite get why her friend was so hung up on this one guy, but after seeing Balfour’s handsome face and impressive physique, she just couldn’t blame Mara.
