The Kiss That Sparked it All Chapter 2456

Chapter 2456

The director was visibly impatient, motioning her to check her phone instead of bothering him.

They had chosen Clara once upon a time because she had a hint of fame to her name.

But now, the debacle surrounding Ivy turned out to be a complete frame-up!

This made Clara, who had seized the opportunity to kick her own sister while she was down, suddenly seem utterly untrustworthy.

Her social media was now swamped with an influx of netizens, their number even surpassing those who had previously condemned Ivy.

Clara’s credibility was being questioned left and right.

[I’ve always said she can’t be trusted. She claims she doesn’t want to ride the coattails of fame, yet she posts this just when Ivy’s scandal hits fever pitch. Isn’t that just a grab for attention? Without this, who’d even know this D-list actress?]

Others chimed in with agreement. [Yeah, calling her D-list is giving her too much credit. She’s basically a nobody! Just look at how many endorsements she’s snagged off Ivy’s back and tell me she isn’t the real leech here. I’d never believe anything from someone who’d bleed her own sister dry.]

Clara was trembling with rage as she read through the comments. How had the tables turned so quickly? Wasn’t that woman universally loathed just a moment ago? Why were people suddenly ganging up on her now?

Confused, Clara clicked on the trending tab and saw Ivy’s name followed by a bold announcement of a new studio and a legal verdict.

“How in the world did that wench get her own studio? Who’s pulling the strings for her?”

Clara remembered when Tessa returned, she had mentioned Ivy being involved with some high-profile man. But she hadn’t heard a whisper about who her benefactor was. Regardless, it seemed Ivy’s backer was indeed powerful, swiftly clearing her name and setting up a studio just so she could focus on acting. To the uninformed, it might even look like he was head over heels for Ivy.

“Hmph, I won’t let you steal my limelight again. I’ll reclaim everything that’s rightfully \mine!”

Clara plastered on a fake smile, spouting a basketful of sweet nothings to assure the director she wasn’t the type to kick someone when they were down. Only after her groveling did he give a stiff nod of acknowledgment.

This was a problem he needed to discuss with the advertisers posthaste. If they shot the ad with Clara as the lead and she was public enemy number one by then, it’d be a disaster for their product.

Each harboring their own agendas, Clara felt compelled to confront lvy once more.

As the eye of the storm, Clara had to make a statement

She had no choice. The netizens, who seemed to devote every waking moment to scrutinizing her, were forcing her hand. If she remained silent, it would be seen as an admission of guilt.

But Ivy’s newfound support was formidable, a force Clara knew she couldn’t contend with. After much thought, she resolved to reach out to her so-called dear sister.

Ivy, having bounced back, returned to the set, with only a few scenes left to shoot. She treasured her debut film and eagerly anticipated seeing her performance on the big screen.

So, when someone told her that her sister had come looking for her, Ivy was taken aback.

“Who did you say was here?”

The crew member repeated Clara’s name, but it wasn’t just Ivy who tensed up at the mention; the entire cast and crew did too.

After all, the last time Ivy had suffered a head injury, it was at the hands of her own mother.
