The Kiss That Sparked it All Chapter 2408

Chapter 2408

“Seren, are you the poster who claimed to be the sole witness?”

When Seren got the call, her heart skipped a beat.

Who was this mystery caller?

How on earth did they know her online handle right off the bat?

“Who the heck are you? Some kind of scammer? Listen here, buddy, I’m broke as a joke. So, if you’re trying to hustle me, you can take a hike!”

But before she could hang up, the voice on the other end let out a deep, steady chuckle. “Allow me to introduce myself. I’m Leo, an attorney with The Howard Group’s legal department. I’m calling today to check if you’re the person behind that ID and if you’ve been posting under it. If so, I regret to inform you that cooperation and the provision of certain documents are necessary for a matter we’re currently handling.”

Seren’s pulse raced. She indeed used that username, and lately, the only thing that could tie back to her was the actress Ivy.

She’d made a few comments online, never expecting to stir up such a storm. Somehow, her posts caught fire, with social media influencers sharing her thread and making her an overnight sensation.

Transitioning from being a nobody in real life to a hot topic online, with followers hanging on her every word, her ego soared, not to mention the enticing prospect of cashing in.

“Big shot lawyer, huh? And how did you get my personal info? Just so you know, that’s a privacy violation, and I can sue for that!”

Seren was on the attack, but Leo just raised an eyebrow, surprised she had some legal knowledge. It was a pity, though, that her claims had nothing to do with privacy laws.

“As I mentioned, I’m with The Howard Group, and my contact with you is due to your infringement upon my client’s rights. Seren, your recent online comments have tarnished Ivy Dunhill’s reputation. Did you ever stop to think that such slander could land you in court?”

Seren scoffed. “Do you think just because I’m not an insider, you can pull the wool over my eyes? What slander? The incident in the restroom, I heard it loud and clear. Ivy knows what she did. Otherwise, why would she hide behind a lawyer instead of facing me directly? Trying to scare someone?”

Leo had to admit, this woman was not seeing reason.

Ivy had delegated the issue to her attorney at the behest of Alyssa, not wanting her granddaughter-in-law tangled in such matters.

Of course, he wouldn’t share this with the woman on the other end of the line.

Besides, why should Ivy appear in person for something her attorney could handle? That would be beneath her dignity.

“Seren, you might be overestimating your importance. I’m Ms. Dunhill’s attorney, and it’s my job to handle this. That’s all there is to it. Enough chit-chat. Expect a summons from the court soon. We’re moving forward with legal action. If you have any evidence, I’d suggest you start looking for a lawyer as well.”

Seren could hear the seriousness in the man’s voice; this was no joke, and panic set in.

“Hey, you’re kidding, right? Those were just some rants I posted online. How can you sue me for defamation? Plus, everything I said was the truth about what I heard that night! If you drag me through the mud, I’ll spill everything to the judge and blast it online for the world to weigh in!”
