The Kiss That Sparked it All Chapter 2359

Chapter 2359

After they arrived at the restaurant, Mara found a table and sat. Balfour was about to sit next to Ivy when Mara tugged at his sleeve. “Balfour, what are you waiting for over there? Come on, take a seat.”

“I was going to-‘

Before Balfour could finish his sentence, Nolan was already helping Ivy into her seat, even looking up at him innocently. “Balfour, why are you still standing?”

With a cold expression, Balfour could only take a seat next to Mara.

“Hello, what can I get for the four of you today? Would you like me to recommend some of our specials?”

A waitress approached them, her eyes sparkling as she took in the attractive group before her, though she managed to restrain her excitement.

The lady seated inside looked like that famous actress who’s all the rage recently. Her best friend was a huge fan, but at that moment, she couldn’t recall her name.

“No, thanks, I’ve been here before. Let’s have four orders of the grilled beef, one serving of the seared prawns, a bowl of the thick soup, and a cream salad-but hold the kale. Mr. Howard isn’t fond of that at all. See if there’s anything else you’d like, but the grilled beef here is second to none, so I took the liberty of ordering for everyone.”

Ivy handed the menu over to Nolan. She wasn’t much for lunch; as long as it filled her up, she was content.

“Let’s add two of your recommended entrees and a bowl of the creamy pumpkin soup. That should be enough.”

The four of them would have plenty to eat with this. As they waited for their meal, Mara suddenly called out to Ivy, asking her to accompany her to the restroom. Ivy was perplexed.

She was still using crutches to walk; why would Mara ask her to go along?

“Just go to the restroom by yourself. She’s still recovering from her injury; it’s inconvenient for her,” Balfour said sternly.

Mara stared intently at Ivy, her expression urgent.

Ivy suddenly remembered–it might be Mara’s time of the month. They were the only two women present, and it would be awkward for anyone else to go. Despite the

inconvenience, Ivy supported herself on her crutches and accompanied Mara to the

restroom.

“I won’t go inside; I’ll just wait here for you. But I didn’t bring anything with me. If you

needed help, I can’t do much anyway.”

Mara turned from the mirror, looking relaxed and without a hint of the urgency she’d shown earlier.

“Ivy, when did I say I needed your help?”

Seeing Mara with her hands clasped high in the air, looking down at Ivy’s leg that still couldn’t bear weight, Ivy’s temper flared.

“What do you mean by this? Did you call me here just to provoke me?”

Mara snorted. “Ivy, you’re a celebrated actress now. Compared to you, I’m just an ordinary person. What would I gain from provoking you? I just hope that next time, you’ll think before you act and not be so full of yourself. Especially when it comes to-

She leaned in close to Ivy, “staying away from my Balfour.”
