Chapter 2281
“Can you believe that guy? He actually said, ‘drop by anytime!”
Margot rubbed her arms against the goosebumps while Thalia just smirked with a knowing glance.
She could kind of get it, though.
Balfour probably said all that stuff for Ivy’s sake, right?
After all, Margot was Ivy’s friend, so it made sense to keep things peachy with her pal.
Ivy watched them beat a hasty retreat, a laugh escaping her lips. When her eyes met Balfour’s, she blurted, “I need to talk to you about something…”
Balfour stood there for a moment, both of them well aware of the elephant in the room. And still, he silently made his way over to Ivy.
“I’m thinking, once I’m back in fighting shape, I want to head back to the set.”
Ivy thought she would struggle to say the words. Every mishap affected more than just her.
There was Balfour, her grandparents-everyone worried sick about her.
She did not want to be the cause of their worry anymore.
But she could not stifle her burning passion for acting.
“I know it’s selfish to talk about this now, but acting… It’s what I truly love. I hope you get that.”
Clutching the sheets, Ivy poured out her love for the stage to Balfour with an almost palpable urgency.
Before acting, she had never thought she could be so passionate about anything.
Just the thought of their movie lighting up the big screen and being seen by audiences everywhere made her heart race with excitement.
“When I’m acting, I feel like I find my true self. I’d give my soul for it. I know it might sound crazy, but I really love it. I love acting so much, I…”
“Then go for it.” Looking up at Ivy’s tear-glazed eyes, Balfour could not find it in him to say
If it was something she loved, she should chase it.
And he would be right there, having her back.
“What?” Ivy was stunned, not having expected such a swift yes.

Chapter 2281
“If it’s what you love, then chase it. Leave everything else to me.”
Balfour’s face was stoic, but Ivy’s tears flowed freely.
All her life, she dreaded being a burden, yet here she was, troubling Balfour and his family
over and over.
And now, to pursue her passion, she was asking for help again. But she knew Balfour was different.
She knew it deep down.
“Thank you, truly, thank you so much…”
Balfour gently wiped away her tears, “I want to see you shine on that big screen too.
Why apologize for following your heart?”
Ivy looked up at him, dazed, as he tenderly dried her tears and caressed her cheek with his fingertip.
She did not move, just soaked in the warmth of his touch, “Thank you. You have no idea what your support means to me.”
Her confession hit Balfour hard, and it took him a moment before he responded in a husky voice, “Are you silly? I’ll always be here to support you. Go on, be bold. Whatever happens, you’ve got me right behind you.”
Ivy drifted off to sleep with a blissful smile.
The mere nod of approval and promise of support made her so happy. Balfour watched her, a bittersweet tang in his heart.
