Chapter 2262
The only thing that could deceive Ivy was a piece of rope.
They searched the room thoroughly, but found nothing.
Colton, unable to contain his frustration, turned to Kael and asked, “Did you help her get rid of the weapon?”
Kael, looking more dead than alive, was hauled to his feet and cast a fleeting glance at the lounge they briefly shared, chuckling foolishly.
“You give me too much credit. Getting rid of the weapon is a big deal. Why would she entrust me with that?”
Diana was always overly cautious; she only trusted herself.
As they were at their wits’ end, nobody expected Diana to show up at the door clad in a trench coat.
Her eyes lit up upon seeing Balfour, but then she surveyed the room with a scowl, her smile quickly dissipating.
“What’s the meaning of this, Colton? Storming into a young actress’s lounge in the dead of night with a posse isn’t exactly gentlemanly, is it?” she inquired. Her hands were in her pockets, and half her face shrouded by the high collar of her coat, exuding an air of someone not to be trifled with.
“It’s one thing to crash an actress’s private space, but it’s a whole other story if said actress is a suspect.”
Diana’s first instinct was to check Balfour’s expression, causing Colton’s heart to sink. Could it be that this woman had set her sights on Mr. Howard?
The thought of Ivy’s peril at her hands sent a chill ran down his spine.
Diana was indeed cunning. If her plot against Ivy had gone undetected, she might indeed leave a lasting impression on Balfour with her wiles.
“A suspect? What suspect? Let’s not joke around, Colton. It’s far from funny,” she said, her eyebrows arching defiantly, not showing the slightest sign of panic even outnumbered.
If it wasn’t for her sinister deeds, Colton might have admired her guts. The more they interacted, the more they experienced a growing sense of fear.
This woman was ruthless in her pursuit of success.
If they failed to find evidence today, it wouldn’t be long before she morphed into an even more formidable threat.
Diana’s cheeks flushed as she turned to Balfour with a girlish look, “Is that the same

reason you’re here in my room, Mr. Howard?”
Balfour had been meticulously searching the room for any hidden evidence and only turned to her upon hearing her voice, “What else?”
Did she really think he was here for her?
Annoyance flashed across Diana’s face as she bit her lower lip. She couldn’t fathom this man – was he genuinely clueless or feigning ignorance?
What was so special about Ivy, that stiff of a woman, to enchant so many men?
“Are you suspecting me too, Mr. Howard? I haven’t done a thing!”
Balfour’s lips curled into a frosty smirk.
“How did you know we were searching for evidence the moment you arrived? We haven’t breathed a word about it.”
Diana’s complexion paled; her guilt as obvious as an elephant in the room.
She forced a smile, “There’s been only one big talk of the event lately, and you all came here because of that, right? I’m part of the crew, so of course, I’d know.”
“What’s that? Why don’t you enlighten us on the latest ‘big event’? Does it involve you, Diana?”
Her face contorted with displeasure as the man relentlessly pressed her.
“It’s about Ivy’s near-drowning incident, isn’t it? The rumor mill’s been working overtime. I assumed it was all because Ivy feared water, leading to the unfortunate accident. No one wanted that outcome, and there’s no need for such commotion to halt our production, is there?”
Bringing up Ivy was one thing, but for the perpetrator herself to brazenly invoke Ivy’s name? She was unworthy.
