“She’s out of my league. She’s like a star in the sky, out of reach for a guy like me. Just being able to watch over her from behind is enough for me,” Kael sighed, as if lamenting the state of his unrequited love. But Balfour’s words pierced through his self-delusions.
“Stop wallowing in self-pity. You think your love is so noble?”
Kael’s eyes practically spat fire. He wanted to throw Thalia to the ground and tear into Balfour’s smug face.
