The Kiss That Sparked it All Chapter 2249

Chapter 2249

Their relationship-rooted in a sham marriage was built on a foundation of lies. No matter how many sweet nothings were exchanged, they rang hollow, echoing untruths.

Elara only saw the raw emotion they couldn’t hide from each other. However, in a different scenario with a stranger as a roommate, spending such an extended period together would likely foster a certain level of connection too.

That night, Balfour gently held Ivy’s hand, keeping vigil by her bedside until dawn. Only after making sure her temperature was stable and the color had returned to her lips did he leave the hospital. With a mountain of tasks ahead of him, he was determined to root out the culprit behind the incident, clearing any hazards before Ivy’s return to the film set.

No one expected that shortly after Balfour arrived on the set, Margot appeared in a fluster. Colton, in an attempt to calm her, was caught off guard when Margot suddenly burst into tears, leaving him at a loss for words.

Annoyance flickered in Balfour’s gaze. What was this actress doing crying before him?

Colton tried to console Margot, wary that the situation might spiral out of control.

“Why couldn’t Thalia’s issues be dealt with on set? Despite being just a crew member, her accident is undoubtedly linked to the production!”

Neither of them knew what Margot was saying, but the tone of her righteous indignation compelled Balfour to pause in his tracks.

“Do you even know what you’re saying? You’re wasting our time. And if this person has no connection to Diana, how do you plan to justify yourself?” Balfour’s skepticism was palpable.

But Margot shook her head resolutely. “Impossible! I’m certain Thalia’s accident is connected to her.” She whispered tearfully, “Thalia was so honest and careful. How did this happen to her? Who is it?”

Upon hearing her murmur, Balfour decided to stay and confront Diana, feeling he was inching closer to the truth.

He had come to realize that Diana was exceedingly cautious, a far cry from the arrogant figure he had imagined. Rather than responding to provocation, she seemed indifferent to others.

This was a revelation Balfour came to understand firsthand, and it differed from Colton’s portrayal of her.

In the end, Balfour concluded that Diana was a master of concealment, and that she might not reveal the truth in casual encounters.

As Balfour decided to intervene, it was with the pursuit of the truth in mind. He didn’t want to waste his efforts on a staged facade.

He heard that Margot was the one who had confronted Diana that day, which was a bold move. However, witnessing her tearful display how, Balfour couldn’t reconcile this image with the sharp-tongued woman he’d heard about.

“Thalia and Margot were close, so it makes sense that Margot’s upset about her friend’s disappearance,” Colton explained to Balfour with a resigned tone.
