The Kiss That Sparked it All Chapter 2246

Chapter 2246

Balfour felt the fire burning in his chest; Nolan’s blatant gaze was something he couldn’t believe Ivy was oblivious to it.

“For me, he’s just a guy friend who occasionally checks in on me, makes sure I’m okay. What’s wrong with that? Or do you think I don’t deserve someone’s concern?”

Ivy’s lips paled; she was already feeling under the weather, and now she had to muster her energy to argue with Balfour.

Balfour certainly noticed her discomfort, and he didn’t want to fight with Ivy. However, seeing her defend Nolan at every turn made him uneasy.

“Doesn’t your defense of him prove something? Look, I don’t want to argue right now. Just get some rest.”

With that, he left the hospital room, leaving Ivy alone, gasping for breath.

Ivy felt unjustly treated.

She couldn’t understand why they had to argue over someone else as soon as they saw

each other.

She so hoped he would stay by her side, and Balfour did seem to have hurriedly packed things from home.

Why couldn’t they both be a little more honest?

If they had just talked it out, they wouldn’t have parted on such bad terms.

As soon as Balfour left the room, he went to the nurse’s station to find a doctor and Elara.

“She’s looking a bit weak. Could you please check on her?”

Elara eyed the man with the icy demeanor, who seemed like he’d just had an argument.

Their office was close to Ivy’s room, positioned so they could provide immediate assistance in an emergency. They had clearly heard the commotion from the room.

Despite his apparent concern for lvy, rushing home to grab her belongings with his tie askew, why would he choose to argue with her at such a critical moment?

The doctor told him that it was best not to upset Ivy at this time; her mood needed to

remain stable.

Balfour’s gaze tightened, “I’m sorry, it won’t happen again.”

The doctor smiled, “Apologizing to me is useless; you need to apologize to the lady in the

room.”

Balfour didn’t nod immediately; instead, he urged the doctor to go in and check on her.

He waited alone outside the room until the doctor confirmed she was alright, then hesitantly left.

Balfour headed straight for Ivy’s film set.

Colton and the producer had been discussing how to handle the situation.

In the midst of their talk, Balfour made his unexpected appearance.

“Mr. Howard!”

Balfour entered the office with an air of frost and was immediately ushered to the head

seat.

“What’s the progress on your investigation?”

The producer said, “No leads so far, Mr. Howard. As you know, several people had issues with Ivy before, and without any eyewitnesses to this incident, it’s like finding a needle in a haystack.”

Balfour didn’t respond immediately; instead, he tapped constantly on the table.

“So you’re saying… you’ve got nothing for me.”

Colton braced himself, “I’m sorry, it’s just that we…”

Balfour waved his hand, “I’m not interested in apologies. If you lack the capability, then

don’t interfere with my actions from now on.”

Colton became anxious, “Bút, Mr. Howard, this is a film set, after all. Ivy would surely want us to finish the movie smoothly.”
