Chapter 2238
Elara nodded in agreement, then continued with a chuckle.
“We all love binge-watching the behind-the-scenes of your movie, but since you’re still in the midst of filming, we’re stuck replaying those leaked teasers over and over. The moment you woke up, the doctor immediately shared an update to our hospital’s group chat, assuring everyone that you were safe and sound. Otherwise, who knows how many nurses might have fainted from worry!”
Ivy was somewhat incredulous. Could she really have amassed such a dedicated fan base already?
But Elara spoke with such conviction, it didn’t seem like a falsehood.
After a moment of internal debate, Ivy conceded, “Tell them I’m doing well now, just resting up in the hospital. It shouldn’t be long before I’m back on set.”
Her words made Elara’s smile widen, “We’re all here at the hospital, probably more clued in about your health than you are. And there’s a bunch of fans waiting to get your autograph once you’re back on your feet.”
Ivy grinned and nodded, “Sure.”
She always tried to accommodate her fans’ requests whenever she could.
After all, the relationship between fans and an actor resembles that of the moon and the stars. Without the stars, she would be a solitary entity in the sky; their presence keeps her from feeling isolated. Similarly, without the moon, the stars would lose their shine.
Ivy also enjoyed scrolling through her Twitter feed, catching glimpses of her fans’ lives, even if only in snippets.
Acting had brought her an immense amount of love, a feeling she had never experienced before.
The realization that someone she had never met could hold such affection for her, simply from watching her perform, was truly touching.
Elara nodded with a smile, “Time’s almost up for me here. Why don’t you close your eyes and rest a bit more? By the time you wake up, your husband should be back.”
Obediently, Ivy closed her eyes, looking forward to the moment when she could open them to see Balfour, her steadfast protector, by her side again.
Diana hadn’t expected Ivy’s resilience or the determination of the film crew. After holding Ivy underwater for more than ten seconds, Diana was astonished to hear that Ivy actually awakened!
Sitting alone in her dressing room, she was still reeling from the overt hostility shown by

the crew members, all thanks to Colton!
If it weren’t for her need for this movie to be her big break, she wouldn’t bother putting up
with this nonsense.
“If only I had been a bit more ruthless, made sure that woman never woke up,” she mused
with a sneer.
Looking at her makeup-free yet still beautiful-reflection, Diana couldn’t help but smile
contently.
“All the knives I took to the face were worth it for this beauty.”
As she admired herself, her dressing room door creaked open.
In walked a hunky man clad in swim trunks.
Diana’s mood soured instantly, “What the hell are you doing in my dressing room? Shut the door, do you want everyone to find out?”
The man, barefoot, strolled over and wrapped his arms around her, planting a stealthy kiss on her cheek before chuckling, “What are you scared of? You’re the queen bee around here, with Starlight Entertainment backing you up. You practically own the place!”
Diana recoiled from his kiss with disgust, “Ever heard of counting your chickens before they hatch? We’re not out of the woods yet, so shut it.”
But the man ignored her protests, nuzzling against her neck persistently, like a cat in heat, much to her revulsion.
Diana was visibly disgusted, yet he remained undeterred.
“You promised me a sweet deal if I did as you said. When are you going to live up to your word? That woman is now lying in a hospital bed because of you. Ha! I never imagined you had it in you to be so cold-blooded, to take down a fellow actor you’ve worked with for so long?”
