Chapter 2193
“Me, going berserk? Why is it that when I bump into you, you freak out, but that guy was just inches away from you and it’s all cool?”
Balfour’s eyes narrowed, a threatening glint flashing within their depths.
“What? You think I was up to no good with Ryan in my dressing room?”
Ivy scoffed, pointing at herself in disbelief, while Balfour remained silent, his silence a tacit agreement.
“Ha! What do you take me for, Balfour? You don’t respect me, and you think nobody else does either, huh?”
She took a couple of agitated steps back, putting more distance between herself and this infuriating man.
Not to mention, when he barged in, the dressing room door was wide open. If she had any ulterior motives, she definitely wouldn’t choose such a public venue.
vy and Balfour only signed a contract, for heaven’s sake; he wasn’t her husband. What right did he have to lay hands on her the way he just did?
“What does this have to do with respect? You were all cozy with that guy. Is that supposed to be okay?”
Balfour’s haughty, superior demeanor only fueled Ivy’s anger.
“It’s none of your business! I was working! Don’t forget, Balfour, our contract didn’t include a clause about meddling in each other’s social lives.”
Ivy snapped back.
Since Balfour kept twisting the knife in her heart, it was high time she set things straight.
“What are you implying? That you want to remind me of our contractual obligations now?” Ivy let out a bitter laugh, though it was laced with pain.
“I’m just reiterating the terms you set yourself. When you made that clause, weren’t you afraid I’d develop feelings and trap you?”
The contract explicitly forbade Ivy from having feelings for Balfour, but she couldn’t help herself, and she loathed herself for it.
She was already down on herself; she wouldn’t allow him to trample on her dignity any further.
“Ivy, last time we talked, I asked you to reconsider our relationship. Have you forgotten?”

“It wasn’t me that have forgotten; it was you- Ivy’s voice cracked in frustration. She couldn’t believe Balfour had the audacity to play the victim.
It was he who had forgotten everything after Mara’s call, not even bothering to bring it up again!
And now he had the nerve to bring it up in front of her, as if she were some plaything to entertain him when he was in the mood?
If Mara was so wonderful, why didn’t he have her act in this farce?
The thought only deepened Ivy’s heartache.
This one-sided love affair had already brought her enough misery; she couldn’t take it anymore.
“This is no excuse for you to be so intimate with other men!” Balfour said condescendingly, gripping Ivy’s shoulders, trying to peer into the depths of her soul.
“I’ve given you plenty of time. Haven’t you figured it out yet?” Balfour asked.
Ivy shook her head with tear-filled eyes, fuming, “I’ve made it clear. There’s nothing between us, and I don’t want there to be anything!”
“Why?” Balfour’s expression transitioned from shock to confusion, “But you clearly…”
