The Kiss That Sparked it All Chapter 2163

Chapter 2163

The bespectacled woman was on cloud nine, feeling almost giddy. Mr. Howard was young, successful, and breathtakingly handsome. Even after years of swimming in the shark-infested waters of showbiz, she couldn’t recall ever crossing paths with such a

flawless man.

As these thoughts swirled in her head, a blush crept across her cheeks, her mind daring to entertain the fantasy. Could there possibly be a chance that Mr. Howard might fancy her? Sure, she wasn’t the fresh-faced ingenue that Giselle was, but there was a certain allure to a woman of experience.

However, her reverie was shattered by Balfour’s icy gaze, laced with a trace of disdain.

She had been spouting vitriol about Ivy, and she knew Balfour wasn’t exactly Ivy’s number one fan. So why did his eyes seem to flicker with a murderous intent?

Had she misread the situation?

Regrettably, after giving her that piercing look from his lofty perch, Balfour never glanced her way again.

Ivy had grown accustomed to the scornful looks cast her way by those around her. Being publicly dumped by Mr. Howard had made her the punchline of a cruel joke.

No matter what evidence she had, they would never believe she was framed.

It didn’t seem to matter anymore. She had no desire to plead for the truth. In fact, she found herself wishing for an escape.

Maybe she was simply incompatible with this film crew. Ever since she took on this role, nothing but chaos had ensued.

She wasn’t some emotionless automaton. The weariness was starting to take its toll.

Initially, Ivy had thought that if she stayed true to herself and focused on her craft, everything would work out.

But the reality on set was far from it.

It seemed that doing absolutely nothing-just standing there-could get her branded as a villain.

Recalling the fans she had met earlier who had cheered her on, she wondered if she could persevere. Or perhaps she wasn’t even worthy of their admiration.

Caught in a strange vortex, she yearned for the affection of others yet felt utterly undeserving of it.

“There wasn’t much going on at the office today, so I thought I’d come check out the filming. Why hasn’t Colton shown up yet?” Balfour scanned the crowd but found no sign

of Colton.

With a delicate tone, Giselle spoke up in defense of the director, “The set was marred by a malicious assault yesterday, so the director and the producer have been cooperating with the police investigation.

They sent us a message earlier to ask us to come as there was a significant development, but they’re nowhere to be seen now. They’re probably still on their way.”

Giselle was the picture of confidence, certain that the group wouldn’t find a shred of evidence against her.

After all, with Balfour himself gracing the set, the director would surely make an appearance posthaste.

“Such low efficiency. This production doesn’t really seem up to snuff, does it?”

Even the cinematographer fell silent. Balfour’s casual remark might have sounded offhand, but it sent shivers down the spines of those who heard it.

“Uh, we’re usually very efficient. It’s just this incident that’s…”

Balfour cut her off mid-sentence, not bothering to listen any further. Instead, he inquired if she had any tissues.

“Don’t you actresses always carry tissues with you? Do you have one?”

Realizing the man was addressing her, Giselle’s heart leapt with joy. Balfour clearly wasn’t the type to carry tissues around.

The fact that Balfour was willing to use her tissues was a sign-she was one step closer to bridging the gap between them!
