Chapter 2094
Giselle’s smile was all sunshine and sweet tea, but inside, her thoughts were a tornado of curses.
Did he really think he was some hotshot Hollywood director?
Strutting around in front of her, he was basically announcing to the whole crew that Giselle was on the outs. And she was not having it.
“Giselle, let’s head back to the green room and take a breather. You must be beat from last night’s shoot,” one of the crew suggested, trying to steer clear of her brewing storm.
Giselle shot him a look that could chill a latte, keeping her fury bottled up until they were out of sight.
Once safely in the green room, Giselle erupted.
“Are you a complete imbecile? Everyone knows I’m off my game today, and you couldn’t order a damn pizza ahead of time? Just had to wait for my say-so, huh? What good are you, blockhead? Huh?”
Her assistant recoiled from her dagger-sharp nails while the agent kept a safe distance. Giselle was notorious for not caring for her image, and no amount of talking would save her feathers now.
After she had vented, the results from her little investigation arrived.
“Pfft, what’s the big deal? I thought Ivy came from some high-and-mighty family. Turns out she’s not even upper-middle class! Ha, with that kind of background, she thinks she can compete with me?”
Giselle laughed as she scrolled through her phone. Her assistant relieved to have dodged the bullet yet terrified at the rapid mood swings of his boss.
“So, Ivy’s got a sister in the biz too, huh? Oh, Ivy, if you can’t even get along with your own sister, how in the world do you expect to snag Mr. Howard?”
Giselle’s face was a mask of disdain. The Dunhill sisters, both actresses, were quite the talk of the town. But compared to Ivy, who gained eight hundred thousand followers after a night, Clara was relatively unknown.
Clara was just another small fry that the Hollywood tide could wash away in a heartbeat.
“Wonder how it feels watching your little sister outshine you, huh?”
Giselle zoomed in on Clara’s photo, a smirk playing on her lips at the sight of her resemblance to Ivy.
“I can hardly wait for the day those two tear each other apart.”
Her laughter filled the room, unnerving her assistant.
Giselle had been in the industry long enough to know how to get what she wanted.
When movie star Giselle expressed interest in meeting with someone from Clara’s agency, the boss was all ears and charm.
Giselle slid off her sunglasses with a smile and said, “Let’s cut to the chase. I’m here because I’m quite interested in one of your talents and want to collaborate.”
“Which talent? If it’s a chance to work with a star like you, anyone from our agency would jump at the opportunity!”
Giselle’s smile was as candid as it was calculated. “Between us, you know how tricky casting can be. I’ve got my eye on one of your actresses and came specifically to work with Clara. Could you arrange a meeting?”
‘Clara?” The agency boss pondered for a moment. Clara was not exactly a standout at the agency; he could not fathom why Giselle would want to team up with her.

“Clara’s not exactly a headliner. Are you sure you’re interested in her?”
Giselle nodded, and the boss had no choice but to set up the meeting.
He lamented the missed opportunity for his other talents, realizing that when someone’s luck is in, nothing could stop it.
“Clara, clear your schedule for this afternoon. You’ve hit the jackpot. A movie star wants to see you,” he told her, his tone cooler when addressing his lesser-known charges.
A movie star? Which one wants to meet me?”
Clara glanced at her phone before pressing it back to her ear, double-checking that it was indeed her boss’s number.
