The Kiss That Sparked it All Chapter 2051

Chapter 2051

However, Alyssa never had a good impression of Giselle. At every turn, the thought of her being with Balfour was met with a cold shoulder.

The reason behind the recent squabble between Ivy and Balfour seemed to be traced back to Giselle stirring the pot. Ivy’s jealousy was the spark that set off their disagreement.

“Here’s what we’ll do, Quinton.” Alyssa paused, a plan forming in her mind as she said, “You go find Giselle and tell her I would like to invite her for a meal. Ask when she can grace me with her presence.”

The underlying message was clear: the formidable Alyssa Howard would deal with Giselle personally.

Quinton mentally offered his condolences to Giselle for a few seconds before replying, “Yes, ma’am. I’ll get right on it.”

After leaving the Howard Mansion, Quinton drove straight to Giselle’s film set and tracked down her agent.

Giselle had just finished a scene when she heard Quinton had come looking for her, and her spirits lifted. “It must be Balfour, worried about me, sending Quinton to check in.”

“Quick, touch up my makeup!”

She rushed to freshen up and change, then approached Quinton with a beaming smile. “Where’s Balfour? Didn’t he come along?” “Mr. Howard didn’t come, Giselle. Today, Mrs. Alyssa Howard specifically sent me to find you.”

At the mention of Alyssa, Giselle’s smile vanished, replaced by surprise and caution. “Alyssa? Why would she send for me?”

“I’ve been instructed to extend an invitation from her for a meal, just wondering when you might be available,” Quinton relayed Alyssa’s message.

Giselle was even more astonished at the prospect of dining with Alyssa. For years, she believed that if not for Alyssa’s disapproval, she would be the one married into the Howard family, not Ivy, who came out of nowhere.

“Why so quiet, Giselle? Is dining with the old lady not to your liking?”

After a long silence, Quinton spoke again, “She seldom invites others to dine with her. Declining such an invitation would surely upset her.”

His words were a clear indication that this dinner was not optional.

In truth, Giselle would not have refused anyway. Despite her feelings towards Alyssa, Alyssa was still Balfour’s grandmother, and Giselle knew better than to offend a family elder.

“Quinton, you jest. It’s an honor to dine with her. I’m delighted. I’m just a tad curious. Why the sudden invitation for dinner?” Giselle asked with a tentative smile.

Quinton knew the reason for the dinner but kept it to himself, “That’s something I’m not privy to, Giselle. Perhaps you could ask her yourself over dinner.”

Giselle was aware that Quinton, a close confidant to Balfour, was tight-lipped by nature. If he did not want to divulge something, no one could pry it out of him.

“Alright then, regardless, I can’t keep an elder waiting. Let’s say tomorrow evening, I’ll be the one to host her for dinner.”

Quinton nodded. “Noted. However, I can’t make decisions on her behalf. I’ll convey the message and give you a call once Mrs. Howard decides.”

Quinton left the set, returned to the Howard Mansion, and relayed Giselle’s response to Alyssa.
