Chapter 1891
Ellinor shot Theo a disgruntled glance. “Well, look who finally decided to show up!”
Look at that, she was still denying she missed him?
Theo responded with a wry smile and then called out towards the door, “Collin!”
Collin appeared at the door, “Yes, Mr. Blanchet?”
Theo said, “Take Baber out for a stroll, will you? Make sure he’s okay. Come back later.”
“Of course, Mr. Blanchet.” Collin advanced, took Baber from Ellinor’s arms with care, and departed the room.
Ellinor, initially reluctant to let go of Baber, sensed that Theo had something important to say and hesitantly relaxed her hold.
Once Collin had left with Baber, Ellinor turned her attention back to Theo, eager to know what he wanted to talk about.
But before she could ask, her vision was obscured as he leaned in and kissed her.
The kiss took her by surprise, and she instinctively punched him a couple of times before surrendering to his passionate advance.
His kiss was too intense, too affectionate. She didn’t stand a chance.
After what felt like an eternity, when she could barely stand, he finally let her go.
She gasped for air, her eyebrows furrowed in annoyance. “So, this was why you had Collin take Baber away?”
Theo, holding her in his arms, chuckled lowly, “What else? You would be embarrassed if the kid saw.”
Ellinor huffed, “Yeah! I’m not the shameless one here!”
Theo caressed her soft hair gently, “Yes, Theo is shameless. But only when it comes to you, alright?”
Ellinor glared at him, “Enough with the sweet talk! Let’s get serious. Collin told me you went to the police station to interrogate Patricia. Did she confess?”
The mention of Patricia made Theo’s expression serious, “Of course she resisted at first. But I made sure she confessed.”
Ellinor trusted his judgement and didn’t ask further. “And what about Sophia?”
His eyes darkened further, “Patricia’s early release was Sophia’s doing. She knew Patricia hated you and let her out to cause trouble. Now, they won’t be getting out anytime soon.”
Ellinor had suspected that Patricia’s early release wasn’t a coincidence, so she wasn’t surprised.
“Hmph, I knew it! You’re nothing but trouble, Theo. You attract women wherever you go and bring trouble.”
Theo frowned, “Is that how you see me?”
Ellinor raised her eyebrows at him, “What? Am I wrong? Think about it, Theo. All the troubles we’ve faced over the years were caused by women who couldn’t have you. And you dare not admit you’re trouble?”
Theo remained silent, pulling her closer into his arms, “I’m sorry. It’s all my fault.”
Ellinor didn’t actually blame him. She was just teasing him to lighten the mood. She didn’t expect him to take it to heart,
“Ahem, well… It’s not your fault that you’re handsome! Just stay away from other women in the future!”
Theo rested his chin on her shoulder, looking somewhat wronged, “When have I ever been with other women?”
