The Kiss That Sparked it All Chapter 1839

Chapter 1839

Theo emerged from Marlinie’s hospital room and dialed a number on his mobile as he walked along the corridor. After issuing a few instructions to the party on the other end, he ended the call, only to find his path blocked by a familiar figure.

“Marcus!”

Her voice was like a grating sound to his ears. It made him instinctively wince. After looking up, he saw Sophia standing in front of him. Her red-rimmed eyes were on the verge of tears.

Sophia was not a delicate-featured woman. He had long wanted to tell her that this pitiful look did not suit her. But he had no desire to engage in conversation with her, so he simply tried to walk around her.

But Sophia was not about to give up. She suddenly reached out and wrapped her arms around his waist as she cried out, “Marcus! You can’t treat me like this! You can’t… I love you so much… I’ve done so much for you! I sacrificed so much! How can you just discard me?! Marcus…”

Her cries drew the attention of passersby, sparking whispers and murmurs.

A look of disgust crossed Theo’s face, which quickly turned into anger. He pulled her arms off him and pushed her aside. “Haven’t you done enough?”

Sophia stumbled and fell to the ground, immediately clutching her stomach and crying out. “Marcus, how could you push me?! I’m carrying your child! How can you treat me like this?!”

After hearing her pleas, the crowd of onlookers began to mutter disapprovingly.

Theo, however, was not an ordinary man. His imposing aura was overwhelming. One cold glance from him was enough to scatter half the crowd, causing the rest to back off a bit.

Not wanting to cause a scene, Theo roughly grabbed Sophia’s arm and pulled her into a nearby stairwell.

“Ah! Marcus… you’re hurting me!” Sophia whimpered as she was dragged into the stairwell. Her face was grimaced in pain.

Once inside, Theo let go of her arm, wanting to put as much distance between them as possible.

“Sophia, I’ve tolerated you for three years. What more do you want?”

Sophia looked at him with innocent, love-struck eyes. “Marcus… I admit that I’ve done some wrong things to keep you by my side. But that’s only because I love you so much! I’m the one who loves you most in this world, not that Ellinor! Marcus, wake up; don’t be fooled by her. She’s been with many men in the three years you were gone. I have proof!”

Sophia’s slander against Ellinor made Theo’s eyes darken. He was so angry that he raised his hand to strike her, but he held back at the last moment.

First, he didn’t hit women.

Second, he found it distasteful.

“Sophia, enough is enough! Don’t push me to my limit!”

Sophia’s red eyes didn’t show any hurt. Instead, they portrayed a kind of madness. “Ha! You want me to stop? Marcus, tell me, what does ‘enough is enough’ mean? I’ve done so much to keep you with me and planned so meticulously, yet you still want to run away?! How can I accept that?

Ha! I love you so much! Yet you’re indifferent to me, and the moment you get the chance, you run back to that damned Ellinor?! Do you think she truly loves you?! Ha! She couldn’t possibly love you more than I do! No one in this world loves you more than I do! Marcus, wake up, you fool!”
