The Kiss That Sparked it All Chapter 1837

Chapter 1837

At that moment, they heard a knock at the door.

Marlinie, who was just about to take a spoonful of porridge to her mouth, looked up instantly. Her gaze was fixed on the door in anticipation.

Lea scampered over to open the door.

Sure enough, standing at the doorway was Ellinor.

“Ellinor, you’re finally here! You have no idea how much Ms. Marlinie has been looking forward to your visit!”

Ellinor nodded. “I’ve been busy these past two days and only just found the time.”

Overjoyed, Lea reached out to take Ellinor’s hand to lead her inside, only to find that Ellinor’s other hand was already being held by someone else.

Only then did she notice that there was someone else with Ellinor.

Following the direction of the hand, she looked up and was taken aback. “Marcus…you… you’re standing?!”

After seeing Sophia’s half-sister, Theo’s expression darkened. Although Bertha and Lea hadn’t done anything to him like Sophia, he still felt a sense of discomfort.

Ignoring Lea, the man just tightened his grip on Ellinor’s hand.

After hearing Lea exclaim Marcus’ name in surprise, Bertha also got up to have a look, revealing the same astonished expression as her daughter.

Ellinor knew that Theo wouldn’t be fond of these two individuals, who were related to Thaddeus and Sophia. So, she didn’t force him to greet them and just gave them a polite smile.

“Hello, Bertha. I came to visit her.”

Bertha snapped back to reality and quickly nodded. “Come in, come in! She’s been waiting for you!”

Ellinor, holding Theo’s hand, led him into the hospital room and approached Marlinie.

During this time, Bertha and Lea kept their gaze on Theo’s legs. They were astounded that he had completely recovered.

On the hospital bed, Marlinie glanced at her daughter and then at the man her daughter brought to her. She understood everything.

Her daughter was introducing her boyfriend…no, her husband.

“Pearl, you’re here!”

Ellinor nodded and nudged Theo forward. “Mom, this is the man I’ve been telling you about”

The man? Theo’s brows furrowed slightly when he heard her refer to him so casually. He was clearly unhappy.

But in front of his mother-in-law, he needed to act appropriately. He bowed slightly and gave her a faint smile. “Hello, I apologize for my abrupt visit without any gifts.”

“That’s okay; don’t be so formal.” Marlinie gave Theo another look. She approved of his gentlemanly appearance.

She had heard about this young man but had never met him before.

She knew that this was the man whom Bertha’s stepdaughter, Sophia, had forcibly kept by her side.

It was no wonder that Sophia was obsessed with him. He was indeed handsome.

Back in M State, Sophia had hidden him well, hardly allowing him to be seen by others.

She had only heard of him and never seen him.

The room fell silent, but it was broken by Lea’s sudden exclamation.

“Wow! There truly is a difference!”
