Chapter 1808
Belinda, teetering on stilettos, had been greeting guests for over two hours. She was so exhausted that she could barely stand. After finally bidding farewell to one group, she slumped into Chase’s arms to rest.
“Getting married is so tiring! I’m not doing this again.”
Chase, supporting her, raised his eyebrows humorously. “You were planning a next time?”
Belinda pouted. “Who knows? Maybe one day you’ll get bored of the marriage game, ditch me, and return to your wild bachelor life. I can’t exactly stay single just because you’ve turned fickle, can I?”
Chase pinched her cheek. “Behave yourself! This is a joyful day. Why are you talking like that? If I were still interested in being a wild bachelor, why would I be rushing to marry you? Silly girl.”
Belinda, her face distorted by his grip, frowned and complained. “Hey! If you pinch me like that, my makeup will smudge. Do you know that this makeup took two hours to put on?! I had to wake up at 4 a.m.! Remove your hand!”
Obediently, Chase let go before pecking her lips. “Sit here and wait. I’ll call the makeup artist to touch you up and bring you some flats.”
Belinda nodded and sat down to rest on a chair. Her back was sore from standing for so long.
She wasn’t lying. Getting married was truly exhausting.
Underneath the vast skirt of her wedding dress, Belinda kicked off her high heels to stretch her sore feet.
Glancing up, she noticed Ellinor sitting not far away with a teasing look in her eyes.
Belinda’s cheeks reddened, realizing Ellinor must have seen Chase kiss her.
Grinning, she waved Ellinor over.
Ellinor, who was watching her kids devour a cake, saw Belinda’s gesture and instructed the nanny to keep an eye on them before she got up to join Belinda.
“Ellinor, how did I do today?” Belinda asked with a puppy-like eagerness for praise.
Ellinor, pulling up a chair, replied, “You were confident, graceful, and truly beautiful. Fantastic job!”
Ellinor’s compliment made Belinda feel as proud as a peacock. “I thought I did well, too!”
Ellinor looked at her. “Exhausted, aren’t you?”
Belinda shrugged. “Yeah, it’s tiring, but it’s worth it! This is the wedding I’ve always dreamed of. Everything went so smoothly. It’s perfect! It’s enough to brag about for a lifetime!”
Ellinor, amused by Belinda’s adorable demeanor, looked for a glass of juice on the table. As she searched, her eyes fell upon an unexpected guest.
Sophia, donned in an expensive, sparkling evening gown, appeared at the wedding, gracefully making her way towards them.
Ellinor narrowed her eyes, wondering what she was doing there.
Noticing Ellinor’s strange expression, Belinda followed her gaze, and her face instantly darkened.
“It’s her! What’s that witch doing at my wedding?! Ugh! My wedding’s been tainted!”
