Chapter 1807
Belinda burst into laughter. “Oh, you’re so easy to scare! I was just testing your boyfriend. If he was that easy to scare off, he wouldn’t be worth it anyway.”
A pouty expression appeared on Veronica’s face. She was clearly not pleased.
Moran, with a smile, put his arm around Veronica. “I know her well. She’s got a temper, but it doesn’t scare me.”
Belinda raised her glass to him with a smile. “Well then, here’s to you whisking our Ms. Veronica off her feet soon.”
Moran picked up a cocktail from the bar and toasted her back. “Thank you; I’ll do my best.”
Belinda took a sip of her drink as her eyes showed a hint of admiration. Then she patted Veronica on the shoulder. “Good catch! Make sure you treasure him.”
Veronica huffed at her. If it weren’t for her wedding day, she’d definitely pick a fight with her.
Belinda left to join her husband, Chase, in greeting their guests.
Moran, with his arm around Veronica, guided her in a different direction. “Let’s go. There are desserts over there. You love sweets, don’t you?”
Veronica was in a bad mood and shook her head. “No, I don’t want to go. I don’t feel like eating.”
Noticing her low spirits, Moran leaned down. “What’s wrong?”
Veronica stayed silent. Her tight-lipped expression clearly showed she wasn’t happy.
Moran patiently waited before saying, “If something’s bothering you, you need to tell me so I can explain. If you don’t, it’s hard for me to understand.”
Veronica still refused to speak.
Feeling helpless, Moran let go of her. “Well, go enjoy yourself for a while. I seem to be the root of your bad mood, so I’ll leave.”
Veronica grabbed his hand. “Don’t… don’t go…”
Only then did Moran stop and turn back to her. “Ready to talk now?”
Veronica nodded honestly. “Is… is my temper really that bad?”
Moran understood the problem and laughed cheerfully. “What do you think?”
Veronica pouted unhappily. “I’ll try to change. I… I’ve been like this my whole life. You have to give me time to change.”
Moran frowned slightly in resignation. “Who said you had to change?”
Veronica looked up at him. “You won’t leave me because of my temper, right?”
Moran patted her head. “If I were bothered by that, I wouldn’t have been with you from the start. Everyone has their flaws. I’m far from perfect, too. I’m more worried about you finding fault with me.”
Veronica’s face finally lit up. “No, Moran, you’re perfect! You have no flaws in my eyes. I would never judge you.”
Moran laughed. “Well then, I better be careful.”
Veronica blinked, feeling confused. “Careful of what?”
“Careful that you don’t discover my imperfections and dump me. I need to keep pretending to be perfect.”
Finally, a smile broke through on Veronica’s face. “No way! You’re the best in my eyes. You’re my dream guy. I feel super lucky to be with you!”
Moran pulled her into his arms. “You’re also great in my eyes. I feel lucky too.”
