The Kiss That Sparked it All Chapter 1722

Chapter 1722

Veronica had a sweet tooth, so whenever Moran asked her out, their meeting spot was always a dessert shop.

While indulging in their sweet treats, Veronica let out a wistful sigh, her face a picture of distress.

Moran couldn’t help but ask what was going on after seeing her like this. “Why the long face? Is something bothering you?”

Veronica could barely taste her dessert. “It’s just this thing between Ellinor and my brother. I’m worried.”

Moran knew this was a matter of great concern to Veronica and comforted her “I think you should trust that Ellinor can handle these situations. Your brother will return home safe and sound. He’s been missing for so many years, yet he’s still alive, which means there’s no immediate danger to his life. Don’t worry too much.”

Veronica shook her head as she pursed her lips seriously. “I’m not even worried about that anymore. I’m more worried that Ellinor might fall for someone else.”

Fall for someone else? Moran was taken aback, then burst into laughter. “You certainly don’t need to worry about that. It’s not going to happen.”

Veronica furrowed her brows. “How can you be so sure?”

“I’ve known Ellinor for many years, and I know her character well. She’s not the type to fall for a guy easily. Back in school, there were plenty of good-looking, successful guys who pursued her relentlessly, but Ellinor remained indifferent.

How could such a hard-to-impress person fall for someone else so easily? It’s impossible!”

Veronica bit her spoon, feeling a bit uneasy. “So, you were one of those guys pursuing Ellinor, huh?”

Moran looked at her with an expression that showed his indifference towards the past. “Here you go again. Didn’t I explain this to you before? Yes, I did have feelings for Ellinor, but I never acted on them. Before I had a chance to express my feelings, your brother had already won her over. And now, I’ve moved on. The one I like now is you.”

Veronica felt a warmth spreading in her heart.

Girls in love always seemed to lack a sense of security. They needed constant reassurance from their partners at all times.

Moran was a very patient man. “Eat up. The movie is about to start.”

“Okay!” Veronica, blushing, began to stuff cake into her mouth.

Moran chuckled as he watched her cheeks fill. “There’s no need to rush. Watch out so you don’t choke.”

Her boyfriend’s laughter made Veronica too shy to eat. She turned her face away to hide her embarrassment.

However, in that unintentional glance away, she saw a familiar figure passing by outside the shop, causing her eyes to widen in shock.

Veronica’s attention was completely drawn away by the figure, and she even stood up to take a closer look.

Finding this very strange, Moran waved his hand in front of her. “What’s wrong? What did you see?”

Veronica came back to her senses as her brow furrowed. “I saw a bad guy who shouldn’t be out there! I’m sorry, Moran, but I may not be able to go watch the movie with you. I need to confirm whether I’m seeing things correctly or not. Sorry, I’ve got to go!”

With that, Veronica got up and hurriedly ran out.

Moran looked surprised, glanced at the purse she’d forgotten in her hurry, picked it up, and ran after her.

Veronica followed the direction the familiar figure had taken. She searched in all directions as she desperately ran.

But she didn’t see the figure again.

She stopped to catch her breath, allowing Moran to catch up with her. “Who did you see? You were so frantic that you even forgot your purse.”
