The Kiss That Sparked it All Chapter 1719

Chapter 1719

Had he ever allowed that girl, Ellinor, to cook for him?!

Ding! The elevator doors opened, and Sophia extended an invitation. “Dad, why don’t you come to our place and taste my cooking? I’ve recently mastered a few new dishes.”

Right now, Thaddeus was too annoyed to have an appetite, but he was curious about how Sophia and that Marcus interacted.

So, he agreed. “Alright, I’ll take advantage of Marcus and try your cooking.”

Sophia grinned, seemingly delighted.

In truth, she was genuinely happy because she believed she would soon be carrying Marcus’s child. Even though Marcus was still angry with her, she didn’t particularly care.

Thaddeus followed Sophia to their room, where she instructed someone to place the groceries in the kitchen before fetching a soda for her father.

“Dad, sit on the couch and wait a bit. I’ll be done soon.”

Thaddeus looked around from his place on the couch but didn’t see Marcus or his illegitimate son. He snorted. “Where are they? Why are you the only one bustling around?” Sophia was in the kitchen, washing vegetables. She responded somewhat helplessly to her father’s question. “Oh, Marcus is in a bad mood today and is sleeping. I’ll wake him up when the food is ready. Don’t worry about it, Dad.”

Thaddeus grunted heavily. It was as if Sophia were serving a lord. Even when Bertha cooked at home, he would roll up his sleeves and help, but Marcus was comfortably lounging in the bedroom?!

He couldn’t help but recall the conversation he had earlier with Bertha and their daughter.

Had Sophia been truly happy these past few years? Was she just deceiving herself?

Marcus didn’t care about Sophia, not before his amnesia and definitely not after.

Thaddeus felt uncomfortable as he watched his precious daughter suffer.

After putting down his soda, Thaddeus walked into the kitchen to watch his daughter work.

Sophia felt her father’s gaze and looked up in surprise. “What’s up, Dad? Why’d you come over here? You can just watch TV. I can handle this.”

Thaddeus considered lighting a cigarette but decided against it.

“Sophia,” he started, “do you really feel happy having Marcus around for the past few years?”

Sophia paused mid-wash. “Dad, why are you suddenly asking me this?”

Thaddeus sighed. “I’m just worried about you. Seeing you like this hurts me. I raised you so you wouldn’t have to do chores and cater to a man. I want you to find someone who truly loves you, cherishes you, and spoils you. Sophia, maybe it’s time to send Marcus back to where he came from. We don’t need to serve him anymore.”

Sophia’s brows furrowed in alarm. “Dad! What are you talking about? Marcus and I are fine. I love him, he loves me, and we’re about to have a baby! How can you say something so disheartening now?”

Thaddeus looked downcast. “He loves you? Where’s the love? Would he let you work alone without glancing your way if he did? Would he let you resort to artificial means to have a child if he did? Sophia, stop lying to yourself! Tell him to scram! I’ll find you someone better and more handsome! Why hang yourself on a cripple?!”

Sophia flared up. “Dad! What’s gotten into you? Did someone say something to you?”
