The Kiss That Sparked it All Chapter 1692

Chapter 1692

Marcus, looking impeccably dressed and utterly composed, was an enigma.

Sophia began awkwardly. “Marcus, um, did your check-up go well?”

Marcus gave a dismissive snort. Thanks to you, it went very well.”

For some reason, hearing the words “very well” made Sophia’s chest feel heavy and congested. Unsettling discomfort washed over her.

Was Marcus’ idea of ‘going well’ suggesting some kind of harmony’ between him and that nurse?

Her mind whirled with this thought, making Sophia feel like she was about to explode with fury.

Dr. Tam approached respectfully. “Mr. Marcus, where is our nurse? I don’t see her around.”

Marcus’ icy eyes met Dr. Tam’s. His tone was ice cold as he said, “She got what she wanted and left.”

Dr. Tam looked puzzled. “But why is her phone switched off?”

“How should I know? Our relationship is purely professional. Even though we shared a fleeting moment today, it’s not my place to know about her phone issues, is it?”

Dr. Tam looked embarrassed. “Er… yes. You’re right, Mr. Marcus. I apologize for the inappropriate question. Our nurse should have informed me after completing your check-up. I’ll have to have a word with her when she returns.”

Marcus cast a cold glance at the doctor and fell silent.

Sophia’s face was a picture of total discomfort.

The ‘fleeting moment’ Marcus mentioned was like a thorn, which pierced her heart brutally.

She had been with Marcus for a long time, yet she never had such a moment with him. Today, that despicable nurse took advantage of this situation to do as she pleased.

Catching a glimpse of Sophia, Marcus sneered. “Aren’t you going to take me home, or do you have more tests lined up for me?”

Snapping back to reality, Sophia shook her head, feeling utterly embarrassed. “No! Marcus, let’s go. I’ll take you home now.”

She moved to push his wheelchair.

But before she could touch it, Marcus had already started guiding the chair towards the exit.

Sophia was left standing awkwardly as her face clouded over even further.

Seeing them ready to leave, Dr. Tam stepped forward. “Ms. Sophia, you and your husband should head home. The nurse has successfully collected what you wanted. I’ll contact you in a few days to arrange the next procedure.”

Sophia nodded irritably and hurried to catch up with Marcus, who had already left the room.

Dr. Tam looked around the special examination room, puzzled. His eyes lingered a little longer on the content of the video playing on the screen before he finally switched it off.

He redialed the nurse’s number, only to be met with the same unavailable message.

This was really strange. Where had she gone, and why was her phone off?

What he didn’t know was that at that very moment, in the storage room next door, Ellinor had dragged the unconscious nurse through the balcony into the storage room and left her on

the floor.

Ellinor was the one who switched off the nurse’s phone.

After looking at the unconscious nurse on the floor, Bryan, Ida, and Balfour turned their eyes to Ellinor, their expressions all different.
