Chapter 1687
Suddenly, Ida spotted a puddle of water on the floor. She wasn’t sure whether it was carelessly spilled water or some sort of beverage.
But the real focus wasn’t on the puddle itself; it was the footprints left by someone stepping into the water, leaving wet imprints on the floor.
Ida followed the trail of slightly damp footprints that were unmistakably left by stilettos.
Just recently, she encountered Sophia in the elevator, who was wearing the same kind of stilettos.
Following the trail of footprints, Ida and Byran found a doctor’s office.
The door was slightly ajar, and they gingerly approached and peeked inside.
Sure enough, they saw Sophia sitting in the office, talking to a doctor in a white coat.
Sophia crossed her legs, glancing impatiently at her wristwatch. “Dr. Tam, is it still not ready yet? Is it that difficult?”
“Ms. Sophia, please be patient. Your husband’s body is quite unique, so the extraction process might be a bit tricky. But our nurse is a professional; you can rest assured. Once she is successful, she will call me over. If we rush over now, we might interrupt and potentially jeopardize the procedure.”
Sophia frowned. “How is the nurse handling my husband? She wouldn’t take advantage of him, would she?”
Dr. Tam wore a professional smile. “Ms. Sophia, you must have done your research before coming to us. There will inevitably be some physical contact during the procedure, but rest assured, our nurse is very professional and will not cross any boundaries.”
Sophia was still not entirely convinced. “I certainly hope so!”
Dr. Tam noticed Sophia’s concern and curiously asked, “Ms. Sophia, I wonder why you declined to perform the procedure yourself when I offered it before. As Mr. Marcus’s wife, it would be most appropriate for you to do so, and it would also eliminate any suspicion. But you refused. I thought you weren’t bothered by it:”
Sophia’s face fell. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to do it herself, but she feared Theo’s reaction.
Yes, she knew Theo would be upset.
If Theo knew what she was doing, he would not only be angry, but it could also affect his physical response.
After much thought, she still felt it was best to leave it to the professionals.
So, she agreed to let the nurse help with the procedure.
But now, sitting here waiting while her mind raced, she couldn’t help but imagine her husband being touched by the nurse.
She could hardly bear it. Jealousy was coiling and spreading in her chest. She was ready to explode!
All these years, she hadn’t had any intimate contact with Marcus, but now she had to let a stranger…
“I…I’m afraid my performance won’t be up to par. If I make a mistake and cause my husband unnecessary discomfort, it would only delay things. It’s best to let the professionals handle it.”
Dr. Tam nodded. “Indeed. Ms. Sophia, you are very enlightened. Just relax and wait patiently. I believe we should have a result soon.”
Sophia nodded, crossed her arms, and waited impatiently.
Another fifteen minutes passed, and Dr. Tam’s phone still hadn’t rung.
Sophia couldn’t sit still anymore. “Dr. Tam, why don’t you call your nurse and check on the progress? It’s been so long, and there’s still no news.”
