The Kiss That Sparked it All Chapter 1614

Chapter 1614

“Achoo!”

In the hotel suite, ‘Marcus’ suddenly sneezed.

Sophia, who had just returned from visiting her father, heard it and immediately looked worried. “Marcus, why are you sneezing? Didn’t you take your cold medicine? It seems like you’re getting worse.”

As she spoke, she quickly approached and placed her hand on his forehead.

It wasn’t hot.

Marcus gently brushed her hand away. “I’m fine. It’s just a bit of an itch in my nose. Probably due to dust in the air!”

Sophia’s worry eased a bit. “That’s good. I will call room service to clean our room thoroughly, so there won’t be any dust.”

Marcus gave a noncommittal hum, not stopping her.

Sophia looked at their child, Tristan,’ who was asleep on the bed while clutching his Mechanical Hero toy. “Tristan’s asleep again? This kid… All he does is play, eat, and sleep.”

Marcus also glanced at their sleeping child with his brows slightly furrowed and his tone carrying a hint of reproach. “How could you let Tristan come back alone? What if he ran out of the hotel?”

Sophia was taken aback and now felt a bit embarrassed. “Marcus, I was talking to my father and couldn’t leave. Tristan insisted on coming back to find you.”

She then seemed to remember something. “But I didn’t let him come back alone. I asked Lea to bring him back. Marcus, didn’t you see Lea?”

Marcus frowned. “No.”

Sophia sighed with a look of grievance. “Then Lea must have just dropped Tristan at the door and left. Marcus, Tristan is my child too. How could I not worry about his safety?”

“Don’t do this again. Lea is still a child herself. What if they both ran out and encountered danger?”

Sophia had a realization. “Ah… Marcus, you’re right! My dad came over today, and I was so excited that I didn’t think about these things.”

“Children at this age are mischievous and reckless. We must keep an eye on him. My condition is making it hard for me to help. Otherwise, I wouldn’t put all the responsibility on you.”

Sophia nodded. “Marcus, I understand. Don’t be mad; I’ll be more careful.”

Even though Marcus always seemed indifferent to her, she was used to it. But his unusually stern and displeased attitude made her start overthinking.

“Marcus, why do you seem to have such a big problem with me all of a sudden? Did Tristan say something to you when he got back?”

She asked tentatively.

Marcus looked up and stared at her. “What do you think he would tell me?”

Sophia thought Marcus’ sudden displeasure must be because the kid had badmouthed her.

If she pretended nothing had happened, it would surely annoy him.

So, she put on a worried face and said, “I did scold him a bit earlier. I admit it. But that’s because Tristan was being disrespectful to me there.

I can tolerate my own child, but my father got angry, saying we didn’t discipline him properly and that he needed to take matters into his own hands.

You know how my father gets when he’s angry. He doesn’t know his own strength. I was afraid he’d smack Tristan’s bottom, so I deliberately scolded Tristan in front

of him.

Did Tristan get mad at me and complain to you?”,

She lied effortlessly, playing the victim to justify her actions while showing no signs of guilt.
