The Kiss That Sparked it All Chapter 1598

Chapter 1598

“Stay put for now. You’re not in any condition to move yet.” Sophia told Marcus, “I’m going to get the hotel staff to open the room door. I need to bring in some cold medicine for you. The sooner you take it, the sooner you’ll get better.”

With that, she turned to leave, but…

“Hold on.” Marcus called out to her.

Sophia stopped. “What’s up, Marcus?”

“I don’t want to trouble the hotel staff. I’ve already dressed up. I’ll open the door for you.”

“Ah, you’re up already? Then okay. Be careful getting out of bed.”

With Sophia occupied, Marcus turned to Ellinor, who was still lying in his arms. They shared a silent understanding, and Ellinor stood up, opening the balcony door to leave.

After closing the balcony door securely, Marcus messed up the bed covers a bit and undid the top two buttons of his shirt before going to open the door for Sophia.

As Sophia entered, she subconsciously glanced around the room, sensing something off but unable to pinpoint exactly what it was.

“Where’s the medicine?” Marcus asked, bringing her attention back to him.

Sophia looked down at Marcus and noticed his undone buttons. Her suspicions faded a bit, and she handed him the box of medicine.

This is it. Take two pills at a time, twice a day.”

Marcus accepted it calmly. “Right. Got it.”

Sophia felt his forehead. ‘You don’t seem as feverish as before Marcus, take the medicine now, okay? Wait here, I’ll get you a glass of water.”

As she turned to leave, Marcus looked at the box of medicine in his hand, frowning slightly. He wasn’t sick and didn’t feel like taking any medicine.

Sophia had made him take various medications over the years, saying it was for his health, but he felt that the more he took, the weaker his legs became. So he had stopped taking them.

When Sophia wasn’t looking, he would spit the pills out. After stopping the medication for a while, he felt some sensation returning to his legs.

Now, he had someone to protect and lost memories to regain. He didn’t want to wreck his health.

Sophia returned with a glass of water. “Marcus, what are you waiting for? Take your medicine.”

Marcus nodded, took two pills from the box, and put them in his mouth. He then took the glass of water and swallowed them down.

Upon seeing Marcus obediently take his medicine, Sophia smiled. “This medicine works wonders. You should be better by tonight, Marcus.”

He nodded. “Thanks for your concern. I’ve taken the medicine. You should go back to your father now.”

Sophia reassured him. “Don’t worry, Marcus. I’ve explained your condition to my father. He doesn’t blame you.”

‘Good.” Marcus nodded.

Sophia hesitated. She wanted to stay with Marcus. Today was a rare day without the interference of that annoying kid. She wanted to take this opportunity to spend some quality time with Marcus, even if it was just to take care of him while he was sick.

Noticing that Sophia wasn’t leaving, Marcus raised an eyebrow. “Why are you still here? I’ve taken the medicine, haven’t I?”

Sophia snapped back to reality. “Marcus, my father doesn’t really need me by his side.”

Marcus looked at her sternly. “Whether he needs you or not is his business. As his daughter, it’s your responsibility to be there. Today is his first day here; you should spend as much time with him as possible. Things can be different tomorrow. Go, take good care of your father for me.”

Sophia couldn’t argue with that. She knew Marcus was right, and she didn’t want to upset him. So she turned and left.
