The Kiss That Sparked it All Chapter 1570

Chapter 1570

Reluctantly, Adrian had no choice but to heed his dad’s words. Looking sheepishly, he muttered an apology to Sophia.

Sophia, basking in the attention from her man, didn’t hold a grudge against the boy. Putting on her kindly demeanor, she responded, “It’s alright. Mommy wasn’t really mad at you. Just remember not to talk to me like that again, okay?”

Adrian, pressured by his dad to apologize, wasn’t sincere. He turned away, refusing to look at Sophia.

Marcus, with his deep eyes fixed on his son, commented. “You’re right. The boy needs a bit of discipline. He’s becoming increasingly disrespectful.”

Sophia, playing the understanding partner, said, “Let it go. I think Adrian has learned his lesson. Marcus, try not to be too harsh on him.”

“It’s because I’ve been too lenient with him that he’s turned out this way. Go on with your chores; I’ll have a word with him.”

Sophia, feeling secretly pleased, nodded. “Alright then. You have a talk with Adrian. I’ll go start dinner.”

With a grunt, Marcus turned his stern gaze toward his son.

Seeing this, Sophia couldn’t help but feel a tinge of satisfaction. She then left the room.

It was about time Marcus disciplined the unruly boy. He had it coming.

After looking at Marcus’ stern and angry expression, she was no longer worried that Adrian would spill any secrets. She knew Marcus would not believe him and would simply dismiss it as a child’s tantrum.

With a pout and a look of impending tears, Adrian whimpered. “I… I want Mommy…

The moment Sophia left the room, Adrian broke down in tears.

Marcus placed a finger on his son’s lips. “Shh…”

Blinking his teary eyes, Adrian looked up in confusion. “Huh?”

Gently pulling his son closer, Marcus whispered soothingly, “Be brave, Adrian. We mustn’t provoke Sophia. Remember not to talk to her like that again.”

Adrian paused, realizing that his dad was trying to keep Sophia calm. He was not truly angry at him.

This realization made him feel a bit better.

After looking down at his son’s small, forlorn face, Marcus reassured him. “Soon, I’ll be able to take you away from here, and we can openly seek out your mother.”

Adrian, trusting his father’s words, nodded eagerly. “I understand, Dad. I’ll listen to you.”

Marcus, comforted by his son’s response, gently ruffled Adrian’s hair and let out a sigh.

After visiting the Blue River Estates with Bartlett, Ellinor asked him to wait for a response from her and the stakeholders. She then drove him back to Rex Enterprises.

Clearly, Bartlett didn’t want to go straight back to Rex Enterprises. While sitting in the passenger seat, he suggested, “Ellinor, since we’re together, how about we grab

a bite?”

Focusing on the road, Ellinor declined politely. “I’m sorry, I’ve already eaten.”

“You’ve eaten?” Bartlett checked the time. “You must be referring to lunch. It’s past three now. In a bit, we’ll be ready for dinner. How about we have dinner together, and then head home?”

“I’m afraid that won’t be possible.”

Bartlett countered. “What’s the problem? You were at a friend’s house when I called, right? There shouldn’t be anything urgent at the office.”

Just as Ellinor was about to respond, Bartlett suddenly interrupted her. “Ellinor, look! Who are those two people over there?”

She was driving and normally wouldn’t be able to look around much, but given Bartlett’s sudden alertness, she glanced over.
