Chapter 1524
Belinda crossed her arms and smirked. “Alright, enough with your sweet talk. Time to put on your professional hat. Otherwise, my aunt won’t believe that you’re a certified psychologist.”
With a gentle amusement in his eyes, Callum tilted his head, looking towards Ellinor, who was sitting on the other side of the living room, cradling a child.
A flicker of surprise crossed his experienced gaze as he strolled over. Polite as ever, he extended a hand. “Hello, Ms. Mendoza. Belinda’s always singing your praises.”
Ellinor put down ‘Adrian,’ rose to her feet leisurely, and exchanged a brief handshake with the psychologist. “Hello.”
Before Callum could register the warmth of her hand, it was already withdrawn. This brief contact allowed him to form a preliminary judgment about Ellinor’s character.
“Please, have a seat. Let’s sit down and chat.”
Ellinor didn’t consider herself a guest, but a client. So, she didn’t waste any time on formalities and sat down.
“Would you like a drink?” Callum asked, the picture of gentlemanly charm.
“A glass of water would be nice. Thank you, replied Ellinor.
After a slight nod, Callum turned his soft gaze to ‘Adrian, who was sitting next to Ellinor. “And what about you, young man? What would you like to drink? I have just about everything here.”
‘Adrian’ remained silent, apparently not fond of this man in his white coat. He didn’t appreciate the way he was looking at his mom.
Ellinor spoke for her son. “A bottle of cola, please.”
Callum smiled. “Alright.”
After his acknowledgment, he instructed his housekeeper to prepare the drinks. Then he looked at Ellinor curiously. “Most mothers dislike carbonated drinks for their children. You don’t seem to mind, Ms. Mendoza?”
“Of course it’s not good to drink them regularly, but occasionally is fine. He’s a bit tense right now. A ‘happy drink might help him relax.”
Callum nodded in understanding.
A somewhat annoyed Belinda came over with her arms still crossed. “Hey! Dr. Callum, I’m your regular guest; aren’t you going to ask me what I want to drink?”
Callum looked at Belinda. “As a regular, I don’t need to be so formal with you. If you want a drink, help yourself from the fridge. Isn’t that how it’s always been when you come over?”
Belinda snorted. “You’ll lose me as a client if you keep this up!”
Callum chuckled. “Alright, no more teasing. Didn’t you say you were bringing a friend over for a consultation? Is it Ms. Mendoza?”
Belinda nodded. “Yes, it’s her!”
Callum was now in professional mode, and his demeanor became slightly serious. “Ms. Mendoza, what brings you in for consultation today?”
Ellinor gently patted ‘Adrian’ on the shoulder. “It’s not me; it’s my son.
