Chapter 1523
Adrian shook his head unhappily, eyeing her with a worried look. “Mommy, are we going to the hospital for a shot now?”
Ellinor paused and then laughed. “No, sweetheart. We’re just going to have a chat with a doctor. No shots, I promise. Now, have your breakfast.”
Relieved, Adrian took the sandwich and began nibbling on it listlessly.
Belinda looked troubled. “I’m introducing a friend to you today. Why do you want him to chat with Adrian?”
“Isn’t your friend a psychologist? He can help us out with Adrian, right?”
Belinda sighed as she took a bite of her sandwich. “Well, I guess… Fine! We’ll all be sitting and chatting anyway.”
Ellinor didn’t think much of Belinda’s remark. She looked down at her son as her eyes filled with complex emotions.
She remembered seeing her other child, who was identical to Adrian, even down’ to the way he slept.
She had the urge to snatch her child away, but she didn’t want to scare him. Escaping through a window with a child wasn’t safe anyway.
That child was the eldest of her triplets. What kind of life had he been living with that man all these years?
Half an hour later, they arrived at a villa.
“Ellinor! We’re here!”
Belinda hopped out of the car and then opened the door for Ellinor.
Ellinor got out of the car while holding Adrian and looked around. The place was tranquil; it was actually quite nice.
“Let’s go. I’ll take you to meet my friend.” Belinda pointed to the villa.
Nodding, Ellinor followed her inside.
A housekeeper greeted them at the door and asked them to wait in the living room, explaining that Dr. Callum was upstairs with a friend and would be down shortly.
Ellinor sat down in the living room, holding Adrian while surveying the decor.
The living room had a warm, homey feel. It felt more like a high-end residence than a clinic.
Soon, they heard footsteps coming down the stairs.
Ellinor looked up to see a man with an intellectual air descending the stairs.
Belinda stood up to greet him jokingly. “Dr. Callum, what took you so long? I brought another friend to meet you.”
The man smiled warmly. “Ms. Wesley, bringing me more clients. I’m grateful.”
“Grateful, but you kept us waiting, huh?”
“I had a friend over. We had a couple of drinks.”
Belinda frowned, “What? Drinking this early? Can you even do your job?”
The man was calm and sober. “A little drink to relax, Don’t worry, it won’t affect my work. Plus, I’m usually off on weekends. I opened the clinic just for you.”
