Veronica and Belinda fell silent.
Ida adjusted her gold-rimmed glasses, a bit taken aback by the sense of maturity emanating from young Layla.
She wanted them to introduce a potential partner to the boss? What a strange girl.
Belinda was charmed by the little girl, reaching out to ruffle Layla’s hair. “Alright, sweet Layla, we’ll have a look around, and we’ll introduce a handsome guy to your mom, okay?”
Layla tilted her head. “Okay! But he has to be more handsome than my uncle. Otherwise, he won’t be good enough for my mom.”
The girls all laughed at Layla’s comment.
Belinda solemnly promised, “Alright. We’ll do our best to find him.”
Veronica stealthily tugged at Belinda’s sleeve, pulling her aside to whisper, “Where are we going to find such a man? I don’t think there’s anyone more handsome than her uncle in this world.”
Belinda gave Veronica an exasperated glance. “You don’t understand how to humor a child, do you? Moreover, even if we really introduced a man to Ellinor now, she wouldn’t accept him.”
Veronica thought for a moment and scratched her chin. “But I think we should consider introducing her to a reliable psychologist instead. I’m more worried about her mental health.”
Belinda responded, “A psychologist… I do know one. He’s a nice person.”
Veronica’s eyes lit up. “Whether he’s nice or not is secondary. The main thing is his ability. Is he good enough?”
Belinda nodded. “He’s quite well-known in his field.”
“That’s good. Introduce him to my sister-in-law and let him give her some good counseling. I don’t want her to keep bottling up her feelings. It might cause a bigger problem in the future.”
Belinda shrugged. “I can introduce him to her; it’s easy for me, but counseling isn’t as simple as you think. The patient needs to genuinely accept the psychologist and be completely open.”
Veronica crossed her arms. “We should still give it a try. Just introduce him as a friend to my sister-in-law. Let them chat and get to know each other. It
could help in some way.”
Meanwhile, Ellinor, having changed clothes, descended the stairs and took a seat on the sofa, accepting a cup of coffee from the maid before taking a
sip.
Then she lazily looked at Layla, who was chatting with Ida, and at Baber, who was sitting quietly by her side.
Adrian, sitting timidly-next to his brother, immediately moved closer to her when he saw her. He was like a shy but clingy kitten.
Ellinor sighed slightly and pulled Adrian closer, feeling a bit concerned about his introverted personality.

Ellinor offered a weak smile. “Not really. Why do you ask?”
Belinda looked slightly troubled. “You just seem a bit off. Did something happen? You can tell us about it. We can share the burden.”
Ellinor squinted slightly.
Something had happened. Today, she saw the man who had disappeared three years ago, living with another woman.
But she hadn’t had a direct conversation with him yet, and the details still needed to be verified.
