Chapter 1514
By the time Ellinor get back to the Blanchet Villa with her three kids, it was already dark outside. She had initially planned to grab a quick bite near the kindergarten and take the kids home. But her little rascal, Byran, wouldn’t have it. After dinner, he insisted on taking his siblings to the local Joyful Kids Park for a while.
The kids, naturally, were all for it. As a mother, how could she refuse those eager eyes? So she agreed and went along.
She called Veronica and asked her to let Grandma know that they wouldn’t be home early.
Veronica immediately noticed something was off. “Ellinor, are you okay? You sound a bit out of sorts. Are you feeling under the weather?”
“I’m fine; don’t worry. Please tell Grandma not to stress.””
“Okay…”
After hanging up, Ellinor rubbed her temples. She wasn’t feeling unwell; she was just a little distracted and dazed. But after seeing her three little ones having so much fun at the park, her motherly heart felt a bit lighter.
When they arrived at the Blanchet Villa, she could hear chatter as soon as they walked in. And it wasn’t Marissa Blanchet or Putnam Blanchet.
She led the kids into the living room to find three girls on the couch, immersed in a lively conversation.
It was Ida, Belinda, and Veronica. Turned out they had common ground after all.
Ellinor cleared her throat, and the three girls turned to look at her.
“Ellinor!” Veronica shouted.
Belinda’s eyes lit up. “You’re finally back!”
Upon seeing her boss, Ida quickly got up to greet her. “Boss!” Then she immediately squatted to say hi to the kids. “Long time no see. You guys missed me, huh?”
Layla adored Ida because she thought she was beautiful, second only to her mom. So she was the first to throw herself into Ida’s arms. “Auntie Ida, I’ve missed you!”
Baber, being a boy, was a bit shy to show such affection but politely greeted her. “Hello, Auntie Ida.”
Little Adrian, however, clung to Ellinor’s leg, looking at Ida with unfamiliar eyes.
Ida found this odd because Adrian used to be just as affectionate as Layla. “What’s up, Adrian? Don’t you want to say hi to me?”
Adrian, not knowing who Ida was, hid behind Ellinor, unsure of how to respond.
Ida, puzzled, stood up with Layla in her arms. “Boss, what’s wrong with Adrian? Did you scold him or something?”
Ellinor looked down at her son, who seemed shy and nervous, and wondered what had gotten into him recently.
