Chapter 1504
It really was Sophia!
As Byran watched Sophia stride off in her high heels towards the room his brother had just entered, his jaw dropped in shock.
His brother was on a date with Sophia?
Byran was so stunned that he could hardly speak. He rushed back into his room and dialed Ellinor’s number. “Sis, you need to get here. Now!”
Ellinor’s voice held a note of impatience. “What now, Byran?”
Byran was practically hopping with urgency. “Sis, I’m not messing around! Do you know who our brother is meeting at this hotel?”
Ellinor tried to sound disinterested. “I don’t want to know.”
Afraid Ellinor would hang up, Byran quickly blurted. “It’s Sophia! Our brother is meeting Sophia at a hotel!”
Ellinor’s typing ceased abruptly. “What did you say?”
Byran was almost in tears, relieved that he’d finally gotten her attention. “I’ll text you the address. You have to hurry and join me here. We can’t let Sophia ensnare our brother like this.”
Ellinor paused before replying. “Alright, send me the address and room number.”
Byran hung up and immediately forwarded the hotel details.-
Ellinor put her work aside, squinting at the address Byran had sent her. Unlike Byran, she wasn’t suspecting an affair between Balfour and Sophia. Instead, she was worried that their meeting was about the plot of land from yesterday’s auction.
Given Balfour’s character, it was unlikely he’d invite Sophia to meet at a hotel. That meant it was Sophia’s idea. Was she up to something?
Concerned, Ellinor grabbed her phone and car keys and left her office.
When Ellinor arrived at the hotel, she knocked on the door to Byran’s suite.
A few moments later, the door swung open, and Byran peeked out. He pulled her inside and quickly shut the door.
‘Sis, I’m glad you’re here.”
Ellinor grimaced at her brother’s lack of decorum. “What’s going on now? Is Mr. Howard still in the same room as Sophia?”
Byran nodded. “I think so. Sophia went in and hasn’t come out. She’s in the room next to ours.”
Ellinor nodded and immediately turned to leave.
“Wait, where are you going?” Byran asked, catching up with her.
“I’m going to knock on their door and see what’s going on.”
Byran looked taken aback. “Just like that? Isn’t that a bit… intrusive?”
Ellinor raised an eyebrow. “What else would you suggest? Running around in circles before knocking?”
Byran scratched his head. “I’m just worried we might see something… inappropriate.
Ellinor smirked. “We’re all adults here. What could possibly be so shocking? If you’re too embarrassed, stay here. I’ll handle this myself!”
