The name Malloy made Balfour’s eyes darken, and a hint of caution flickered beneath his gaze.
Ellinor, sharp as a tack, caught the subtle shift in her brother’s expression and asked curiously, “What’s wrong? Is there bad blood between you and Malloy?”
“Malloy is the alias Thaddeus used back home.” Balfour said as he shook his head in worry.
“Malloy is Thaddeus?” Ellinor was taken aback. “So, that plot of land belongs to Thaddeus?”
Balfour gave her an affirmative nod. “What time is the auction? I’ll accompany you tomorrow.”
Without any attempt to hide, Ellinor replied, “It’s at ten tomorrow morning.”
“I’ll pick you up tomorrow morning. Also, have the Blanchet family’s staff bring in those toys from the back of the car for the kids.”
Ellinor’s mind was elsewhere as she murmured her thanks to her brother. Soon, members of the Blanchet family’s staff were seen carrying in the toys Balfour had brought for the children.
Ellinor watched Balfour’s car drive away in deep thought. She glanced down at the painting titled ‘Dark Night’. If she could find her mom, maybe she could find Theo too.
The kids were over the moon with their new toys.
Baber, hugging his share tightly, asked with gleaming eyes. “Mommy, did Uncle buy these toys for us?”
Ellinor had never openly acknowledged Balfour as her brother, but she was not against her children calling him Uncle.
“Yes. Uncle bought them for you and even delivered them himself.” After answering her eldest son, she handed a big box to her youngest. “Adrian, this one’s yours.”
Tristan, who had been quietly observing, was stunned when Ellinor gave him a large box of toys. “Is… Is this really for me?”
“Of course, it’s for you. This isn’t the first time Uncle has bought toys for you guys. Why the disbelief?” Ellinor responded.
Tristan couldn’t believe his luck.
The box contained a complete set of luxury excavator toys.
He had plenty of toys at home, but he had never received an excavator set before.
He had always loved these dirt-digging trucks, but Sophia wouldn’t let him play with them. She claimed they were for the lower class and detested him playing with dirt.
Sophia would always buy him high-end car models, which he found boring and uninteresting.
Tristan was over the moon with joy as he held the excavator toys.
So, life could be this simple and joyful here.
After handing Layla her doll set, Ellinor dialed Balfour’s number and had each of the children thank him.
She then left the children to play with their new toys and retreated to her computer to search for information on this man named Malloy.
So, Malloy was Thaddeus. Recently, Thaddeus International Corporation had been selling off domestic assets on a large scale. Sophia’s recent trip back home was probably to help her father manage these assets.
