Tristan put on an innocent face. “I wasn’t blabbering. I really don’t have a brother!”
Ellinor was genuinely angry now, and her tone became very stern. “Adrian, you’ve been very naughty today! If you continue like this, Mommy won’t like you anymore!”
Tristan got a little panicked after he saw the disappointment in the pretty lady’s eyes, and he quickly reached out to hold her hand. “Don’t… don’t dislike me, Mommy…”
For the first time, saying the word ‘mommy’ didn’t seem so hard.
At home, Sophia always told him to call her ‘mommy, but for some reason he didn’t want to and just couldn’t say it.
Even though her youngest son backed down, Ellinor didn’t soften up immediately. Instead, she sternly reprimanded him. “Go to your brother! He was hurt to hear what you said! Apologize to him now!”
Pouting, Tristan obediently walked over to Baber. “Brother, don’t be mad. I’ll call you brother from now on.”
Baber lifted his head and gave his little brother a generous smile. “I’m not mad. I’ll always love you and our sister.”
Baber, showing a big brother’s magnanimity, opened his arms to hug Tristan. “Mommy always said that you, me, and our sister are the closest people in the world. We have to love each other forever.”
Initially, Tristan felt awkward being hugged, but after feeling genuine love from his brother, his heart warmed up.
Growing up as an only child, he was always with his father and Sophia, and no one ever taught him how to interact with siblings. He had never been around kids his age and was always playing alone.
So this was what it felt like to have a brother?
Ellinor’s face brightened as she watched her sons make peace.
“Alright, let’s get in the bathtub and take a bath. Great Grandma will be calling us for dinner soon.”
After hearing this, Baber and Tristan obediently undressed and hopped into the bathtub.
Ellinor tied up her long hair with a hair tie and sat by the tub, squirting some baby shampoo into her hand. “Mommy will wash your brother’s hair first, then Adrian’s, okay?”
Tristan nodded. “Okay!”
Ellinor gently massaged the shampoo into her sons’ hair, ensuring the foam didn’t get into their eyes.
Half-an-hour later, after bathing the boys and drying their hair, she helped them change into clean clothes.
The two little boys scampered out
Initially, Tristan felt a bit out of place here. But after playing with Baber in the bath, he relaxed.
He liked it here. He liked the atmosphere so much that he didn’t want to leave.
At home, he only had Sophia for company, which was boring.
But he missed his dad a bit.
Well, that didn’t matter now. He wanted to stay here with the beautiful lady and his brother, Baber, for a few more days before going home.
Baber and Adrian were chasing each other around the room when they accidentally knocked over Layla’s doll.
The doll fell to the floor, and Tristan immediately picked it up and handed it back to Layla.
Layla took her doll back, but stared at him suspiciously. “I know that you’re not my real brother. Who are you?” Tristan was taken aback. He didn’t expect the youngest to notice since the beautiful lady and Baber hadn’t. Children weren’t good at lying, and, after being questioned like this by Layla, Tristan fell silent for a while.
