In a state of worry, Belinda sighed. “That’s where I’ve just come from.”
Veronica sensed something was amiss. “What’s happened? Is Ellinor looking for my brother?”
Belinda carefully glanced towards Marissa, who was engrossed in watering her flowers, oblivious to their conversation. Once reassured, Belinda whispered, “Well, here’s the thing. Ellinor gave birth today, and then…”
“What? She gave birth?!”
Veronica’s excited outburst caught Marissa’s attention.
Marissa turned to them with a furrowed brow. “What are you girls gossiping about? What’s this about giving birth?”
Belinda discreetly nudged Veronica to prevent her from spilling the beans and then casually replied to Marissa, “Oh, it’s nothing! We’re just chatting about a game. My character leveled up.”
Marissa shrugged nonchalantly, losing interest in their conversation.
Then, Belinda pulled Veronica a bit further away and complained. “Why were you so loud just now?”
Veronica was puzzled. “Why can’t I say it out loud? It’s great news that Ellinor gave birth. Grandma and Grandpa would be thrilled.”
Belinda sighed deeply. “The problem is that there’s a bit of a situation now. Uncle has inexplicably taken the newborn and vanished.”

Belinda shock her head. “Uncle only took one baby. We all agreed to temporarily conceal the truth from Ellinor and tell her that she gave birth to twins. She hasn’t noticed anything unusual yet.
We need to find Uncle as soon as possible and figure out why he took the baby. Premature babies are fragile. It’s dangerous for him to take the baby away like this. Veronica, do you have any idea where Uncle might have gone?”
Veronica thought for a moment and then shook her head helplessly. “I have no idea. My brother doesn’t usually take me with him or tell me where he’s going. Should I ask Grandma?”
Belinda quickly stopped her. “No, don’t! It’ll be more troublesome if your grandma finds out. She’ll hurry to the hospital to see Ellinor and the babies, and we won’t be able to keep the secret.”
Veronica was distressed. “So what should we do now?”
“There’s not much we can do. If you have time, come with me to look for him. Let’s start at Uncle’s office.”
Veronica nodded. “Alright, I’ll go with you. Let me tell Grandma, then we can leave.”
Belinda warned her. “Don’t let anything slip to her.”
