The Kiss That Sparked it All Chapter 1356

Chapter 1356

Belinda honestly admitted. “Yeah. He came with me, and he will take me home when he and Ms. Gipson leave.”

Jacob couldn’t hold back his curiosity anymore. “Belinda, what’s the deal between you and Mr. Larios?”

Belinda was taken aback and felt a bit embarrassed. “Jacob, why the hell would you ask that? There’s nothing going on between me and Mr. Larios!”

Jacob insisted. “Then why does he seem to care so much about you? I’ve heard some office chit-chat, saying you joined the company because of Mr. Larios. Is that

true?”

Belinda stuttered. “Uh… yeah, I joined Crescent Society because of him.”

After hearing his girlfriend’s candid response, Jacob felt a bit down, but her honesty gave him some comfort. “Belinda, thank you for being straight with me, but do you still have feelings for Mr. Larios?”

Belinda tried to dodge the question. “Jacob, there’s nothing between him and me anymore. I accepted your pursuit, and I’m sincere about it. Don’t overthink it!”

Jacob felt melancholy. “Belinda, it’s not me overthinking, but I feel like I can’t fit into your world. I feel lost; do you get it?”

“Jacob, I…”

Jacob cut her off and said, “Belinda, I want to come and get you right now. If you agree to let me, then I’ll believe you’ve chosen me. If not, I won’t bother you anymore.”

Belinda hesitated a bit. “Jacob, I’m sorry, but it’s not a good time today. Theo wants me to spend more time with Ellinor here.”

Jacob managed a bitter smile. “I see. I won’t bother you anymore. Bye!”

Belinda felt a bit dazed after hearing the dial tone. Was she just dumped? But she didn’t feel much, nor was she sad. She stood in place, holding the phone for a long time.

Ellinor, who just came out of the restroom, saw her and asked, “What’s wrong?”

Belinda shook off her stupor, put away her phone, and shook her head. “Nothing; let’s go have some BBQ. Theo bought it especially for you. If we don’t hurry, they’ll have eaten it all.”

Ellinor wasn’t actually hungry, but she hadn’t had BBQ from that place in a long time and felt like trying it again

They both returned to the living room and joined the BBQ party.

Bartlett and Balfour had no interest in the BBQ. They sat in chairs by the floor-to-ceiling window, chatting.

“Balfour, you’re not being cool.” Bartlett complained.

Balfour sat there, but his eyes were always on Ellinor, who was on the living room couch. He was concerned about her every move, fearing anything might go

wrong.

“What did I do?”

Bartlett took a sip of his coffee. “You didn’t tell me Ellinor was staying with you. I’ve been looking for her for days! You didn’t even tell me about Ellinor being kidnapped. Is this how you treat your best friend?”

Balfour looked back at him indifferently. “What’s your relationship with my sister? Why should I report to you?”

Bartlett retorted. “Ellinor and I are friends! You know I have feelings for her. Can’t you help me out as a friend?”

Balfour scoffed. “Dream on. You’re not her type.”

Bartlett raised an eyebrow. “I’m not her type, but Theo is? Balfour, are you saying that in your eyes, I’m worse than your enemy, Theo?

Balfour frowned. “Theo is definitely not her type either, but she likes him.”
