Chapter 1354
He gently raised his hand, tenderly fixing her sweater.
“Collin bought a lot of food; it should be enough for all of you. Now, go back. The sooner you eat, the better.”
Ellinor looked at Theo’s soft gaze, staying silent for a while. “Mmm, thanks.”
Theo frowned. She was getting more and more polite with him. But he’d rather she be polite than ignore him.
Ellinor was about to leave with the barbecue when she suddenly remembered something. “Mr. Blanchet, accept the money I gave you for the painting.”
Theo’s brow knotted. “Do you really have to be so calculative with me?”
“What’s yours is yours, and what’s mine is mine.”.
Theo’s face darkened, and his tone was no longer gentle. “Go eat, then get some rest!”
Ellinor pouted. She unhappily said, “You too, Mr. Blanchet. Be careful on the way home!”
Theo got into the car with a stern face, and after Collin bowed to Ellinor, he also got in. But the car didn’t leave right away.
Ellinor was going to watch him leave before going in.
After waiting for a while and seeing the car still hadn’t started, she frowned, took the barbecue, and turned back. Her servant came up to take the barbecue from her. Once Ellinor was safely inside the gate, Theo finally relaxed, signaling the driver to go.
After Theo’s car left, Bartlett, who had been ignored the whole time, finally snapped back to reality.
He didn’t get in the car but walked through the Howard family’s gate and caught up with Ellinor.
“Ellinor!”
Even though she heard her name, Ellinor didn’t stop walking. She turned her head. “Mr. Rex, you’re here? Just arrived?”
Bartlett felt a little bitter. He was standing not 200 meters away from her just now, and she didn’t even notice him.
He smiled and followed her. “How are you not surprised to see me?”
Ellinor answered indifferently, “What’s there to be surprised about? You guys all have interconnected networks, important news is definitely shared among you, so it’s not surprising you found this place.”
Bartlett liked her cool and smart side. “So you’ve been staying at the Howard’s these past few days, and you didn’t even tell me?”
“Why should I tell you? So you can come running over here for no reason? Besides, you already knew it, didn’t you?”
Bartlett felt a little hurt. “Ellinor, I know you don’t want me to find you, but I was really worried about you! I heard you were kidnapped and were just recently rescued. Are you okay? Are you hurt?”
Ellinor showed him her hands. “I’m fine! I’m good!”
Bartlett looked her over carefully. “Mmm, good. When I heard about it, was really scared and rushed over.”
Ellinor thanked him for his concern. “Sorry for the trouble. But don’t worry, I’m really okay. If you don’t have anything else, you should go home and get some rest.”
Bartlett frowned. “Are you saying you don’t want me here?”
Ellinor answered calmly, “It’s not that I don’t want you here, but it’s almost dawn; don’t you have work tomorrow?”
Bartlett smiled slightly. “How could work be more important than you?”
This made Ellinor a bit uncomfortable, but she knew he was just joking, so she didn’t take it seriously and didn’t respond.
