Chapter 1343
Ellinor seemed impatient. She huffed, “I don’t want water. I want coffee!”
Theo nodded immediately, giving Veronica a stern look. “Go, get her a coffee. A little sugar and a little ice. The sooner, the better.”
Veronica was stunned for a moment. She then realized that they might be making up, so she broke into a smile. “Sure! I’ll go right away! Ellinor, I’m going to get your coffee. I’ll
be back soon.”
With that, she spun around and dashed off.
Ellinor had been mindful of her diet during her pregnancy, avoiding too much sweet food. Having just gone through an emotional roller coaster, all she wanted now was to have a coffee to calm herself down.
From the beginning to the end. Theo barely glanced at Sophia. His attention was all on Ellinor, treating her with extreme care, like a fragile object.
Sophia didn’t care how Ellinor viewed her, but she was concerned about Theo’s perception of her, so she put forth a rational argument.
“Theo, Ellinor has a deep misunderstanding of me and is quite prejudiced. But you know me, I could never be the person she describes.”
Theo’s gaze shifted slightly to Sophia. He didn’t respond to her words; instead, he calmly asked, “Have you replaced your documents yet?”
Sophia was taken aback. She tried to dodge the question. “Not yet, because in M State…”
Theo didn’t want to hear her explanation, so he cut her off, “Sophia, I appreciate your assistance back then, but we agreed that it was just a marriage certificate to appease my grandfather, nothing more. We also signed an agreement.
But if you keep avoiding replacing your documents and not cooperating with me on the divorce process, then I’ll have to take legal action in M State and apply to the court to annul our marriage certificate. I believe that, as friends, we don’t need to take this to court. Think it over.”
Sophia was dumbfounded. She didn’t expect Theo to be so cold. Unable to keep up the act, she vented, “Theo? You’re done using me, and now you just want to dump me?
I, Sophia, am the only daughter of Thaddeus. I won’t let you treat me like this! My father won’t either! Theo, you better be responsible! Otherwise, you will learn just how powerful my father is!
I don’t want my father to have issues with you, and I don’t want to watch the two men I care most about fight over me. Theo, as long as you accept me, I can put everything else aside for you.”
Theo pulled Ellinor into his arms, protecting her like his own child while stroking her head, not wanting her to hear Sophia’s nonsense.
He looked at Sophia with his firm, fearless eyes. “Are you threatening me?”
Sophia’s eyes were filled with longing as she shook her head. “I’m not threatening you. I just want to be with you. Theo, I can even accept that you have Ellinor. I can even accept her having your child. We three can live together.
I just want to be your wife. No matter how many ‘Ellinors’ you want in the future, I won’t mind.”
Theo frowned, struggling to understand this friend he’d known for years. He said coldly, “I’m sorry. At most, I can only consider you as a friend.”
