Chapter 1325
Ellinor looked at Balfour, her face expressionless as she said, “Bro.”
Balfour was visibly shocked, and his hands began to tremble with excitement. “Ellinor, say it again; I didn’t catch it.”
Ellinor seemed a bit aloof. She furrowed her eyebrows, but she fulfilled his wish nonetheless.
“Bro, I wanna eat some cream puffs.”
Balfour was so touched that his eyes welled up. “Alright, I’ll get someone to buy them right away.”
Ellinor obediently nodded. “Hmm, I’m also a bit thirsty. I want some water.”
Balfour immediately rose to his feet. “Alright, I’ll get you some right now.”
He turned to face the hospital room, which they had just moved into, and realized that it had no water.
Balfour habitually ordered Quinton to fetch some water, only to realize that Quinton had gone to handle the hospital admission procedures and had not yet returned.
“Ellinor, wait a moment! There’s no water dispenser here; I’ll have Byran fetch a cup from somewhere else.”
Ellinor obediently responded.
Balfour took the water jug and exited the room, initially intending to send Byran, whom he had just dismissed, to fetch water. However, he realized that Byran was not outside the room and had disappeared.
Ellinor was still thirsty.
Balfour looked back at Ellinor lying in bed, feeling a bit uneasy. But recalling what she had just said, he thought she must have come to terms with things and wouldn’t do anything rash.
So, he closed the door to the room, took the jug, and briskly walked to the hospital’s water dispenser.
Unexpectedly, he ran into an acquaintance right at the entrance of the water room.
“Mr. Howard, which room is Ellinor in?”
Sophia was looking through each hospital room in the corridor. After seeing Balfour, she immediately went up to him.
Upon seeing this cunning woman, Balfour frowned warily. “How did you know she’s in the hospital?”
Sophia chuckled bitterly while explaining, “I went looking for Ellinor this afternoon. After being chased away by you, the more I thought about it, the more I felt that I should tell Ellinor about Theo. I went to your house again in the evening, but even before I could knock, I saw your car zoom out! I asked your butler, and he said that Ellinor wasn’t home and had gone to the hospital. I guessed she must have been taken to the nearest hospital, so I came over. How’s Ellinor now? Is she okay?”
Balfour squinted his eyes. “Quit pretending.”
Sophia looked innocent. “Mr. Howard, what do you mean? How am I pretending?”
Balfour said coldly, “Don’t you know why Ellinor was suddenly stressed out and taken to the hospital? Wasn’t your intention in coming to our house this afternoon to upset her? I’ve already asked our servants! They said Ellinor got upset after seeing the news of Theo’s accident on the leaflets blown into the yard. Ms. Sophia, do you think everyone is a fool? No one would distribute leaflets near our home unless they had an ulterior motive.
And the Blanchet family hasn’t even made this matter public. Who else could have made those leaflets but you?
