Chapter 1246
Balfour asked, “Is Ellinor here? I’m looking for her.”
Belinda looked a bit puzzled. “You’re looking for Ellinor? Balfour, are you two close or something? What’s up?”
Before Balfour could even reply. Ellinor showed up behind Belinda, calmly staring at him, “You need something from me?”
Seeing Ellinor approaching, Belinda naturally stepped aside to make room for her.
Upon seeing Ellinor, who had been missing for hall a year, Ballour’s eyes tightened and then relaxed again, as a hint of emotion flashed in his eyes. “Ellinor, where have you been these past six months?”
Ellinor frowned. “It seems like everyone’s been asking me that today, I don’t have to report my whereabouts to you guys. Isn’t it enough that I returned safely, no matter where I’ve been?”
The usually arrogant Balfour didn’t get mad at Ellinor’s straightforward response. Instead, he nodded in satisfaction. “Yeah, as long as you’re back and safe!*
Ellinor didn’t bother to say more; she just turned around and went back to her room.
Balfour followed her in, spotted a few people by the dining table, and gave Ida and Chase a nod.
Meanwhile, he noticed that the spot next to Ida was empty, but there were signs of used cutlery on the table.
Balfour squinted his eyes; he didn’t have to think twice to know whose spot that was.
Who else could it be but his good-for-nothing brother?
Upon hearing his brother’s arrival, Byran hid under the table.
But Balfour wasn’t there for him today; he didn’t have time for him.
He walked straight towards the room Ellinor just entered, knocked on the door, and went in.
After closing the front door, Belinda returned to the dining table with a puzzled look on her face. “What’s going on? Why would Balfour look for Ellinor? What’s their deal?”
Ida and Chase exchanged glances, but neither of them answered her question.
They weren’t in a place to talk about the boss’s life.
Chase pulled Belinda aside. “Don’t worry about it; just sit down and continue eating.”
Belinda sat down with a confused look on her lace. Only then did she notice that someone was missing from the table.
“Huh? Where’s Byran?”
Chase pointed under the table with a laugh.
Belinda was stunned for a moment, then quickly looked under the table.
Sure enough, Byran was hiding under the table.
Belinda couldn’t help but laugh. “Hahaha! Byran, you’re such a scaredy-cat! It’s just your brother, not the big bad wolf!”
Even though Byran felt embarrassed, he didn’t dare crawl out from under the table. He looked at Belinda with annoyance. “I wouldn’t be scared if it was the big bad wolf. Keep your voice down; don’t let my brother find me.”
Inside the room.
