Chapter 1245
Belinda said excitedly, “He must’ve come to see you, but maybe he was too shy to come upstairs. These old-school guys are all the same. Ellinor, should I go and call him up?*
“He’s not welcome here.” After staring down at the street for a few seconds, Ellinor pulled the curtains shut.
Out of sight, out of mind!
Ellinor’s cold attitude made Belinda’s interest wane. She pouted helplessly, then sneakily peeked out of the curtains again, only to find that the street below was empty. Her uncle and his car were gone. Had he left?
Why couldn’t he wait a bit longer to show Ellinor his sincerity?
Ellinor couldn’t be bothered to go back to bed. “Didn’t you say you wanted to eat? Let’s go!”
Belinda nodded, managing a forced smile. “Okay! Let’s go eat together.”
Ellinor came out of her room and naturally took the head seat at the dining table.
With Ellinor present, Belinda didn’t feel as awkward sitting next to Chase.
Once everyone was seated, they started eating and chitchatting.
Belinda’s cooking skills were top-notch. Her dishes were delicious and won everyone’s praise, which made her a bit shy.
As Byran was eating, he started thinking. “Ellinor, when your baby is born, will he or she consider ida a godmother?”
Ida served him some vegetables while signaling for him to shut up with her eyes.
But Byran didn’t think he asked anything inappropriate and awaited Ellinor’s answer.
Ellinor gave him a glance. “What are you trying to say?”
Byran flashed his pearly whites. “If your baby considers Ida a godmother, that means I’m the godfather. Then I’d have a child. I can’t believe I, Byran, will have a child at eighteen.”
Ida, Ellinor, and Chase were speechless.
Belinda rolled her eyes. She really couldn’t understand why a mature and independent woman like Ida would be into a big dummy like Byran.
Just when Byran had made things incredibly awkward, the doorbell rang.
Belinda jumped up immediately. “It must be my uncle! He finally couldn’t resist coming upstairs to see Ellinor. I’ll get the door.”
After saying this, she dashed off to open the door.
Everyone at the table looked at Ellinor to gauge her reaction.
However, Ellinor paused for a moment, showing no particular reaction.
When Belinda opened the door, her smile gradually faded, and her eyes were filled with disappointment.
It wasn’t her uncle.
Outside, Balfour was a bit surprised to see Belinda open the door. He looked at the house number, thinking he had the wrong address.
Belinda asked, “Balfour, what brings you here? Are you here to pick up Byran?”
Balfour’s eyebrows furrowed slightly. “He’s here?”
Belinda nodded. “Yes, he’s inside eating. Byran, your brother is here for you!”
Balfour pinched his brow. “I’m not here for him.”
Belinda looked at him curiously. “Not here for Bryan? Then your visit is for…”
