“Let her go.” Sif waved, gesturing for the bodyguards to release Vicky.
However, the advantage was all too clear, and Vicky would not resist unless she was stupid.
And just as Sif had expected, Vicky did not push her luck and stared at Sif fixedly instead.
“Don’t give me that look now, Vicky.” Sif smiled in amusement. “I’m just repaying the humiliation I suffered at the hands of your family.”
“Humiliation? What humiliation could you be talking about?” Vicky laughed coolly. “If I recall, aside from keeping you confined, we offered you the best hospitality and saw to your every need.”
“Exactly! You confined me, and that’s an insult to me and the Lionhearts!” Sif bellowed, though her expression quickly eased. “Things shouldn’t have gone this way, Vicky. You should’ve become my sister-in- law… We really had a good chance of becoming family.”
“Forget it.” Vicky snorted. “Titus is a wolf in sheep’s clothing, conspiring to have my whole family killed. Do you think I’m as stupid as you are, stooping to spouting such nonsense?”
“Insolence!” The Lionheart bodyguard beside Vicky strode up and slapped her across the face, knocking her to the floor and cracking her lip.
“Now’s really not the time to be stubborn, Vicky.”
Sif slowly walked up to her, dropping to a crouch with a gleeful smile. “Go on, kneel before me and beg. If you’re sincere enough, I’ll tell you who’s the one who framed your father. Who knows, you might be able to bail him out.”
“Would you really tell the truth if I kneel?” Vicky struggled to look up, her eyes flashing defiantly.
“Tut, tut. You’re in no place to argue, are you?”
Sif clicked her tongue. “I heard that the Martial Alliance has already taken your father. Just take a moment and imagine what the mayor would do to your father once he has him… Urgh.”
Sif certainly did not need to elaborate, since Vicky tensed as if seeing the torment that awaited her father already.
“Kneel!” Sif bellowed right then. “Get down on your knees, unless you want your father dead!”
Silence ensued.
Eventually Vicky dropped on her knees as everyone watched and- giggled, her forehead striking the floor so hard in her kowtow that she bled.
She knew that Sif just wanted to humiliate her, but she had no choice
because she wanted to save her
father. All she could do was to
accept whatever was coming to her.
As for Sif, she was getting full of herself as the usually proud Vicky was bowing to her.
“Hahaha… Well done, Vicky! I never thought that this would ever happen!”
Sif snapped her fingers, and her lackeys promptly bought her a couch.
She sat and watched as Vicky remained on her knees, smiling in amusement, and suddenly said, “Now take off your clothes.”
“What?” Vicky looked up in confusion, thinking she had misheard.
“You heard me!” Sif crossed her legs and sneered. “I said, take off your clothes!”
“Watch yourself,” Vicky snapped back.
However, even as she looked around
and saw the masked men leering
at her, she unwittingly
gightened her clothes, scowling.
